  1. Or the side mirrors? Or the 4 pane slider?
  2. High pinion on the right, low pinion on the left.
  3. Whoever's lecturing you about the high pinion D30 vs a low pinion D44 must be confused... either that, or I am. You're not looking for a D44 front, are you? They're trying to get you to avoid a low pinion FRONT axle, a low pinion rear is fine, I don't think I've ever even seen a high pinion rear.. High pinion Dana 30s can be had from 84-99 XJs, and all MJs. Shouldn't be too hard to find one in 3.07. Most of us can't even give them away.
  4. Except the gearing sucks.
  5. Should bolt to the floor the same, yes.
  6. AX-15 was used in mid 89 - 92 MJ, mid 89-95 YJ, 97-99 TJ, and mid 89-99 XJ.
  7. Directly, no. You'd need that elusive mid 90s Dakota 2.5/5 speed bellhousing.
  8. I don't think you absolutely have to, but it would certainly make it easier. I can understand why you wouldn't want to, those torx bolts are a pain. You'll need a little bit of sealer if you get a rubber gasket - pretty sure they have those for the 2.5. I HIGHLY recommend not using a cork gasket. Why are you removing the pan?
  9. Just get one with the same spline input and it should work.
  10. IIRC, all column shift MJs got idiot lights. You should read up on this though: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=14904
  11. Did you put fluid in it?
  12. Just out of curiosity, can you see how easily those rear discs would go on an XJ 8.25? If they're bolt on, I'd be all over a set of those.
  13. Check your fuel pressure.
  14. Sounds about right to me. No clue how they could be missing if they're not rolling around in the tank. Only other explanation is someone dropped the tank, removed them, and neglected to put them back in before putting the tank back in.
  15. Having your 2wd shaft cut down will most likely cost less than tracking down the shaft you actually need. Not only are our trucks old and rare... but a good portion of them rolled out of the factory 2wd. I paid $108 for a cut, balance, and two new spicer U-joints.
  16. It might slightly reduce the life of the pump, but you should be fine. Only other side effect is the noise, but chances are your truck makes plenty of other noises to cover it up.
  17. Hmmmmmm. Good to know. I'm going to have to consider this.
  18. It came on again. 2 codes. Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Malfunction again, so gonna have to look into what the problem is now. Also got Evaporative Emission Control System Purge Valve Circuit Malfunction.. Eh?
  19. What's DFW?
  20. Dunno how this slipped by. AFAIK, they're not even close to compatible. Not only do they hook up differently, but they use different refrigerant.
  21. I see these comments on this forum quite often and they make no sense. Just because they're both SUA does not mean it's going to simply swap in. 99% chance the distance between the perches are different. You also have to take into account overall axle width and pinion angle.
  22. Not really. Compared to AX15 it is! That's true, but, in my opinion, the hassle of even tracking down a Dak housing, doing all the fab work to get the AX-15 mounted in there, is only worth it if you have a very specific reason to put an AX-15 behind a 2.5. OP, an AX-5 will do you just fine.
  23. If you have a 4.0 with a 5 speed, sorry, but your rear axle is 3.07. The axles on that XJ are 3.55. Since they're both 44s, just swap axles. Swapping a rear will run you a set of perches, some grinding, and new U-bolts.
