  1. Stick a mechanical gauge on it before you start tackling wiring. I wouldn't blame wiring if it started doing this as soon as you put in an unknown used motor. Make sure it's the gauge and that the motor isn't tearing itself apart.
  2. I have the exact same tattoo on my shoulder.
  3. The 2wd beam axle without unit bearings was around about the same time as the internal slave cylinder. Just another one of those things that they switched to for a short period of time just to piss us off. I kept one around for awhile for no apparent reason... Then someone needed it for a roller, so it worked out. Monetarily... they're worthless, but if you've got the room to have it sit somewhere, I wouldn't scrap it.

  5. Because most part stores are operated by monkeys getting numbers off of a computer, and those computers are generally wrong. To cite a quick example, I saw an eBay listing for an XJ ECU that would work in 84-96.... which is impossible. It's always best, whenever possible, to take your old part in with you when you get the new one.

    Question

I believe every word of this.
  7. To add onto what Pete said... When he said 87+ anything for the front driveshaft, I'm sure he meant to specify any XJ/MJ 4.0 with a 5 speed. 2.5 and automatic front shafts are not the correct length. For the complete shift linkage, you need to get one from an AX-15. Keep that in mind if you don't manage to snag an entire XJ.
  8. I don't think it means anything. If I leave it alone for a few days, no notifications pop up, but if I check the box, then go back to the forum, it pops up with a 1 or 2 that doesn't go away for a day or so. Methinks it's broken.
  9. Please tell me you're kidding.
  10. I haven't confirmed it, but I believe the YJ/TJ transmission use a different fork than the XJ/MJ ones. I know the shifters are different. If you're using an XJ/MJ shifter with a TJ/YJ trans, I can definitely see why you would be having that problem.
  11.
  12. You're probably going to get hit doing that. One of the people you get really close to is going to suck at getting out of the tight spot you put them in, and they're going to slam into you. I don't know about where you are, but everywhere I have ever been, 90% of drivers have no spatial ability.
  13. What's your fluid level like?
  14. Fortunately, the spell checker on FF doesn't auto-correct anything, it just puts a red underline under the misspelled stuff and gives you suggestions if you right click on it. Autocorrect ANYTHING pisses me the hell off, which is a major reason I can't stand MS Word.
  15. Doesn't kill it on mine. :dunno: The only add-ons I have installed are Adblock Plus and Video Download Helper.... maybe you guys have one that can interfere with the built-in checked?
  16. I've never installed any spell checking add-on, and my spell checker has always worked on every site...
  17. What am I missing here?
  18. Don't discount a seizing pilot bushing/bearing.
  19. Would a YJ cable work in an XJ/MJ?
  20. tweaking... Alright.. nevermind.
  21. I don't remember which one's which, but the AX-15's synchros are not made out of the same material as the AX-4/5's.
  22. Rule of thumb... don't not buy a 92.
  23. I believe the 952 is 4wd MJs made in 92.
  24. I believe you'll want to retorque the U-bolts after 50.
