Can Spell Comanche (2/11)

    Why The Comanche?

I bought mine new (1991), I was doing a lot home remodeling / hauling for my house back then and was replacing a little Mitsubishi turbo-diesel which only had a 900# payload. The Metric Ton was was the best capacity in the mid size line up. I still drop 1500# of gravel in the back every now and then and haul it home. It's also fun to dick with how it looks! :)

  3. I've had one the last year or so. I'm quite sure I ordered it from CoverKing through CostCo for about $25. It hides the cracks and has a good fit. For a picture send me an email to: simple nest @ san . rr . com remove the spaces, it is a trash account so not concerned if it gets spammed.
  4. yes factory skid, no modifications required for bumper Here is a closer view I found of the front. It also is my profile picture. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10201643380749545&l=43f15d6807

  6. I ignored my A/C not working for several years until the compressor froze up about 9 months ago. It contaminated the entire system with shrapnel so every major component got replaced with new. It also didn't help when they broke a fitting on the under the dash evaporator necessitating even more disassembly and parts. Anyway you might want to get one of those replacement idler pulleys if you want to defer decisions on what to do about it. That cold air blowing out of my vents now cost about $1800 vs what would have been a $3-400 conversion kit if I wouldn't have procrastinated.
  7. No; One should add up all of the positive and negative responses and make their own informed decision. I personally would give more weight to negative responses. I would also use responses such as mine to trigger additional research which is readily available on this business using google. I would also check the BBB. There is a wealth of information available that would lead any resourceful person to not want to order from RRO. I personally waited 5 months for a set of Bushwackers.fender flares.
  8. STAY AWAY FROM ROCKY ROAD!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Yes that pilot bushing has been trouble in the past, other symptoms might point to that too.
  10. I bled the system and it helped shifting a tad but made no real difference to the noticeable creep when in first gear and the clutch pedal is pushed to the floor. On level ground and no brakes on it will creep a bit sometimes but not all of the time. A light brake will hold it and there is no change on the tach when the brake is applied. I'm going assume that the hydraulic throwout bearing is not doing its full job but I think I will bleed it one more time just in case. Any comments are welcome but sometime soon I will be taking it to a shop to be figured out. It's not the original clutch/ pressure plate but it might have 100K on it. Thanx for your time and hard earned experience. Pat P.S. I turned 166666 miles today!!! :)
  11. I replaced my slider last year. Ordered it somewhere off the internet made by CLR, cost $175, included the urethane. The old urethane was very difficult to remove. The old frame had a broken window so didn't have to be careful with the old frame but it would be really hard to remove and reglue.
  12. Well that was worthy of going right out and checking because I moved that canister to the engine compartment last year when I installed the Bushwackers & JCR bumper. I found that the hose had popped out of the T probably when I was handling it last weekend when topping off some fluids and checking for AC refrigerant leaks which I've experienced twice now since I had the AC system replaced two months ago. Anyway Spot On answer Pete. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!! You saved me some expensive embarrassment I'm sure! :)
  13. Would anyone have any ideas on the most likely cause for no matter what position the slider (AC Max, AC, Vent, Heat or Defrost) is in air is only directed at the defrost vents. Maybe a linkage under the dash? The dash was off 2 months ago for some AC work at a shop so I wonder if it might be related to that. They have been good about honoring their warranty but the dash work was a real pain for them. Anyway I don't know the layout under there so ideas are appreciated. Pat
  14. I think there was $25 of or so, not sure anymore but with shipping to San Diego the total was $590.
  15. Like 86Customanche my back bumper is on the vendors website. Picture #2 before my paint job. I always meant to send them a better picture but never did. What is not mentioned is that bumper is Line-X'd.which is not one of their options. I got it raw and put another $100+ into the Line-X. The bumper is awesome but pricy! http://www.hansonoffroad.com/proddetail.php?prod=MJ4002-P I've had 2 Fey bumpers and they only last 6-8 years before rusting out.
