  1. I'd bet it's a D35.
  2. My first 88 did that when it was deceptively low on coolant. Try burping the system again, there may be trapped air.
  3. I'd track down a new set of Metric Tonne springs.
  4. That would prevent the yoke from spinning, and should stop the chain from spinning as well.
  5. Wow.. all the stuff probably makes the manche look cheap. Sneaky
  6. :agree: I can see how that's entirely possible. Do you have a 242 or 249?
  7. Sounds to me like one of the wheel CVs is shot.
  8. That's ok, there won't be much left of it when we're done, so it should fit in the trailer ok. And I do have the title for it, so that wouldn't be a problem anyway. Flipping it on its roof isn't practical because of where we're doing it... no room under the carport, and I'm SURE doing it in the middle of the road would cause someone to complain.
  9. My Dad does... hmm. I'm sure he'll let me borrow it. Between the trailer and the back of the MJ, we should be able to get it all back there.
  10. Yeah, I guess I should have had you grab that. Cutting it up would definitely be an option, and should provide some entertainment as well. Only thing that sucks, is the scrap place has crappy hours, no weekend and they close at like 3. I doubt I could fit the whole truck in the back of my 2, especially with the 2.5's rear axle about to explode, I don't want to drive it too far.
  11. Looks like it'll be 31st, 1st, or 2nd. Jo really thinks she's actually gonna be delivering this weekend(our anniversary, so that should be fun), so that weekend should actually be better. Brent, I'm sure I can get you one of those pieces. If there's not one in that XJ, I'm pretty sure I have one laying around. I still need something to bolt on for a front axle. Brent, will you be able to bring that one? I'm assuming that Pat will not have that MJ parted out before his surgery. Wade, it'll be nice to finally have you make it out this way. Hopefully we'll be able to get some work done between drool sessions. I'm working this one the same as the last one... I want the axles, seats and wiring. Flares have been spoken for, and while I know that doesn't leave much left, everything else is up for grabs. This XJ is the base models of base models, it does not have ANY amenities whatsoever.
  12. I'd been thinking of suggesting the very same thing. Either that or a "Vehicle" and "parts" sections.
  13. I've noticed the 10W-30 popping up a lot lately with more than just our transmissions, does it require fluid changes more often?
  14. With the CAD system disabled, you shouldn't need a lot, if any, fluid over there anyway since the collar will no longer be moving.
  15. Regardless of how close he gets it, it is still necessary to check the alignment when he's done. There can always be minute differences in the new and old parts, and it only takes a few minutes to check and adjust the alignment.
  16. Just make sure you do the same number of turns on each side. It would be a good idea to count when you take the old ones out, but you will definitely want to do an alignment when you're all done. Don't worry too much about the alignment. A toe alignment is very easy to do, and since you obviously have the ability to change the TREs, you can easily do it yourself. http://www.4x4xplor.com/alignment.html
  17. Not sure... I've never owned a TBI Jeep. I suppose that would depend on if the injector is under or above the butterfly. I assume it's under.
  18. Attempted to plant one cherry tomato plant. It died.
  19. The IAC is probably shot, and the PO must have done something to keep it open a little. Truck shouldn't idle at all if it's closed.
  20. You need ALL the wiring and EVERYTHING in the engine bay for that swap.
  21. Just keepin ya on your toes.
  22. I bet it'd be pretty hard to find one. We did have that done once, guy picked it up for the scrap value and was actually not too happy to find the truck was missing an axle when he came to get it. This was also back before scrap prices were crap. I got $36 for the first XJ. Add to that, it'd probably put some nice scratches in the concrete. Landlords may not like that. Ugh, if I hadn't listened to my dad all them's years ago, I'd probably have a 3.07 D30 sitting around.
