  1. I want one.
  2. No, bring the MJ :D We should have plenty of drool time.
  3. If you're putting in a full cluster, it should have the fuel gauge in the lower left corner as a small gauge. You can't just swap the gauges themselves, the printed circuit board on the back is different for each type of cluster. There's a good writeup about doing the shift indicator here viewtopic.php?f=9&t=14904
  4. I'm slightly confused as to what you're asking. Swapping to an automatic, and then back to a manual isn't used as a temporary fix. For an auto you're going to need the trans, flexplate, torque converter, automatic radiator, auto ecu, trans mount. Also, pretty much the only auto you can use is a TF 904 out of a 84-86 XJ or 86 MJ without a ton of headaches. Not gonna be the easiest to find. What do you mean by "newer style clutch"? The external setup is FAR superior to the internal. Also, automatics don't use slave cylinders. It's going to be MUCH cheaper, MUCH easier, and MUCH more practical to simply fix your clutch setup, especially since you indicated you'd go back to a manual anyway. What's wrong with your clutch? It's probably something fairly simple.
  5. Call up Chrystler and ask :rotf:
  6. August 1st. Will those blades fit a craftsman saw, or do I need to buy some too? Mine look like this

    BAHAHA!

It wouldn't be hard to take an extra washer fluid tank, and hook it up under the bed so you can piss on rocks when you're flexing the rear.
  8. Passenger side is a mirror image.
  9. Low fluid can cause the fork in the TC to not want to slide back. Worn out spring can do the same. I'd drop the front shaft until you get it figured out.
  10. Yeah, I'm not too familiar with the 249, didn't know if the VC was attached to the front or back. As long as you're messing around with it... get a 242 or 231 in there.
  11. That's a Dana 35. The pictures are fine. Looks like a good find though. Might wanna see why that door's falling off though..
  12. How are the exhaust bolts? I remember seeing something on here about the exhaust manifold leaking really bad and heat-soaking the injectors.
  13. I unno. I don't remember what was going on in my head earlier. Is the VC completely seized? Would you be safe to run without a front DS?
  14. I'd think it'd be the other way around if anything.
  15. If you're just going for looks, you could probably stuff them with 2 inches, but if you're doing any offroading you'll want 4-5.
  16. It should still idle, but not very well.
  17. Hey, I don't brew squat.
  18. Nice of you to offer your trailer, but you shouldn't need to bring it unless you're taking that motor back with you. Scrap place has no weekend hours, and I'm sure you need to be home before Monday. I talked to my dad today, he doesn't seem to think his trailer can handle that much weight, but I do. That and between my truck and the trailer, should be ok. If all else fails I'll have to store some in the back of the 2.5 and simply make more that one trip. We should be good to go on the 1st. I should have the XJ here either early that morning or Friday night, so you guys can start showing up whenever. I'll supply some food(I'll use the big George Foreman in the house, since me and the charcoal grill don't seem to get along anymore.)
  19. No matter what the circumstances, if you rear-end someone, in the eyes of the law, it's YOUR fault. They just slap you with a following too close, and you're screwed. Glad you're ok though. Even slight fender benders can really suck, and it could have been a lot worse.
  20. Yes, the shroud is for more than protecting your hands while working on a running motor. They help direct the air where it's supposed to go.
