  1. I believe so. I seem to remember there being a sensor in the rad when I just had the motor out of the XJ.
  2. I don't see why they wouldn't have bothered not tapping them for the 2.8, I'm sure the transmissions were all completely built before it was even determined which motor they went behind.
  3. But the HO ones still have two senders. Gauge one is in the same spot at the Renix, back of the head, and the ECU one is in the thermostat housing. The one for the gauge only has one wire, and IIRC on my 88 it's pinkish.
  4. I think he's asking if there are any other vehicles he can grab a bottle out of if he can't find any good XJ ones.
  5. I want my yard to look like yours.
  6. I think we're missing a big point here. ... I didn't see him mention AW4 or Puegoet BA 10/5. $800 would be a good price, if the building company did a good job and didn't mess anything up. I've also heard about common problems with rebuilt AW4s. If it's the Puegoet. Definitely not. It's not worth $80 rebuilt. If you've got the 5 speed, spend your money on an AX-15. I've seen rebuilt AX-15's go for between $450 and $600.
  7. :rotf:
  8. Grabbing the control arms off the ZJ wouldn't help you, they're the same as XJ/MJ ones. The difference is where the spring meets the body. Also, ANY height change will affect your toe alignment.
  9. Try putting up a WTB thread in the classifieds. There's a lot of members in your area, chances are good someone's got what you need.
  10. Midwest, cause, it's like, awesome. :smart:
  11. Sorry, should have specified. The bumper is in the shed, not on one of the trucks.
  12. I've got a factory bumper with the tow hooks and the brackerty still bolted to it, if you wanted to take a look at that
  13. Linksys. No question.
  14. :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: That's somethin I'd do I didn't think it was all that great until I realized that you were using the actual winch cable.
  15. Don't bother with the S10 junk. Plenty of Jeep stuff out there. You can use an AX-4 or AX-5(identical except ones a 4 speed, ones a 5). You can get those from behind the 2.8 V6 or 2.5 I4 out of any XJ/MJ/YJ/TJ. 2.8 and 2.5 use the same bellhousing, same transmissions. x3 on the external stuff. Internal slaves are junk. I don't know about driveshaft lengths, but if you can grab the trans/T-case-front driveshaft all together, that'd be your best bet. It'll be pretty difficult to track down a stock rear, so if the AX-5 is longer than your auto(I think it is), you'll have to just have your current rear one cut down and re-balanced. If you can't get the T-case with the trans, but IIRC almost all AX-4/5s need a 21 spline long input T-case. Try to get a 231 if you can. Just an FYI(if you don't know already) before/in case you ask. No, you cannot bolt up a T-case to a 2wd trans. You'll need a 4wd one.
  16. IIRC the crank bolts flange bolts are the same between Flywheels and Flexplates.
  17. Does it do it all the time, or just that once? Is your coolant full? I'm thinking either you're running low on coolant or your water pump fins are bent.
  18. With the trans in park and T-case in 2wd, can you push the truck? If you can move it, there's your problem. But I'd think you'd have noticed if Park didn't hold the truck. I think you have the backwards. The 21 spline output might spin inside the 23 spline input, but the other way around simply wouldn't go on. Are you sure it wasn't a short/long input conflict?
  19. An AX-15 would solve your problems
  20. Isn't there at least one CC member that lives in Mexico? I can't think of his name, but I know there's at least one who's fairly regular.
  21. sure, I spend all that time finding that thread and now it doesn't do the "somebody else posted, are you sure you want to?" thing.
  22. This? viewtopic.php?f=3&t=17158
  23. Yeah, I know, I'm brilliant. We'll just have to check it when I get back. I'll also try lobbing off one ear of the old dist cap to check the timing. I'm sure if I get one of those little LED worm flashlights I'll be able to make sure the piston is at TDC.
  24. What year is the 'new' trans from? Are you sure the 'new' trans was even good?
  25. Speedo went electronic in 91, but in mid 87 they changed how the cable clipped to the speedometer. You'll have no problem changing clusters and retaining your current speedometer. It's also IIRC fairly easy to adjust the odometer in the Renix style clusters, so you could easily switch back to the tripo cluster if you get it changed.
