  2. :agree: Another reason to start looking around for an External Slave 4wd AX-15. You really don't want to have to put money into an internal slave replacement.
  3. embedding vids is not satallite internet friendly!! :redX:
  4. Yeah... still leaking oil, pretty good too, but nothing like the old one did. GF keeps telling me that at least it's better... not the point. It was resealed, on a stand, it shouldn't be leaking at all. I was gonna take my mom's car down again, but GF wants to take the XJ. So... wish me luck...
  5. Well, I'm apparently not the brightest. Timing was off, cam was advanced a tooth. I was looking at the wrong marks. Fixed the timing, and got it to start after pulling the plugs and letting all that gas vent out of the motor. Ran it for a few seconds, shut it off, and put all the stuff back on the front of the motor. Went to start it... didn't go. Pulled plugs, let it air out again, and then it started. Let it run for a good 2 minutes, then shut it off so I could tighten the water pump and clutch fan bolts. Went to start it... didn't go. Let it sit overnight with the plugs in, and it fired up. Took it for a drive for a few minutes, then came back. Leaked a little coolant, found a bad hose clamp, replaced and now that's fine. It(of course) leaks a bit of oil from the back of the motor, either oil pan or RMS, dunno which, but it's a very small amount. Took it for a longer drive around/through Madison, and it's acting really well. So we'll see how she does tomorrow.
  6. Yup.. Lake Mills police department helped me figure that one out. He was nice about it though, I was on my home from work about midnight and he had me put my 4 way hazards on, and let the cops on the interstate know I was coming and not to pull me over. Just got a repair notice that I didn't even have to mail in.

The wording is rather.. humerous. Especially the third word in the last sentence....
  8. Some people like the manual actuation on the CAD for the 2Lo option. I've considered doing it, but soonish both MJs will have non CAD axles and the XJ is getting the one piece shaft when the 242 goes in.
  9. If I run that motor down to Rob's tomorrow maybe you could come out and help us lift it out of the XJ.
  10. You'll have an AW-4 then.
  11. 1. Very common, you can try changing the fluid, but that's about all I suggest if you have the stock (Puegoet BA 10/5) transmission. If you plan on doing a 4wd swap on that, start pricing around for a 4wd AX-15. 2. All I know is the tail lights and dash lights use the same fuse, so I would bet there's a short or bad ground somewhere. 3. Do you still have the stock cooling system? It's a closed system, so having a higher pressure cap on the overflow tank might cause it to run too high pressure and pop a gasket somewhere.
  12. You might want to start by letting us know manual or automatic. Pics are always a good way to tell too.
  13. Early 86's will need some slight TLC with a BFH, but it's nothing that would stop me from swapping in the motor.
  14. ..Who told you not to swap in 4.0? Sure, it's a lot of work, but well worth the upgrade if it's what you want.
  15. I used to have ATT, but service in Marshall was junk, they kept screwing up the bill, so we ditched them for USC. I like USC, good service, better coverage, and they're pretty good about the bill. I also have a RAZR. I hate the POS. It likes to not ring, then pop up that I have a voicemail. It also deletes my contacts and pictures randomly. I had some battery charging problems with it... sat on the charger all night, then about a hour after I pulled it off (had 3 green bars), it was about dead. It also re-set the phone to factory defaults. Battery seems ok now though that I threatened to take it into USC for a free battery. The getting cut in half by the bandsaw might have had something to do with it too.
  16. If the shifter is in 4 HI, the front shaft will be spinning, however it will not power the front wheels if the CAD is not engaged.
  17. I hope he gets sacked. A LOT. ing traitor.
  18. Better control system, valves(I believe), intake/exhaust ports, better intake/exhaust manifolds, better cam.
  19. Got the timing cover off, and was greeted with this: Looks perfect, doesn't it? Just want some verification from you guys before I put it all together and start freaking out at this thing.
  20. Spins... when? If you're under the truck, and the lever is in 4wd, the driveshaft should not be able to move, CAD or not. If it's in 2wd, with a CAD, and the CAD isn't engaged, then the driveshaft will spin by hand. If the lever is in 4wd, or the CAD is locked, the driveshaft will not spin by hand.
  21. I've always filled through the shifter hole. FSM will tell you how much fluid it takes.

  23. Don't copy the code, when you get your result, right click on the pic itself, click on view pic or view image, copy that URL, then post it in here with the IMG tags. Edit: added the stuff in bold, cause I forgot a vital step
  24. Just trying to correct a common mistake, but it is a "catalytic" converter. There is no such thing as a "cadillac" converter. No worries mate. Rob L. ;) I thought it was just the tailpipe? Shouldn't be any difference between XJ and MJ crossovers.
