I have been working with vehicles professionally for almost 30 yrs. Can't say I quite grasp the concept of an inline V6? :D :hmm:
Me either, but it's amazing how many of them there are on CL.
You can use this to calculate SOA lift..
A lot of people mention 2wd or 4wd leaves as calculating lift, but I see that as a moot point. Lifting is going from what you're at to where you will be. Unless you're switching leaves, it's irrelevant.
2000 XJ?
Yes, just make sure you keep all the 2000 brake stuff with it. Disc and Calipers.
It'll be a low pinion axle though.
Not sure about the WJ, but I think it's the same as an 00 XJ D30.
I wouldn't even try with a head gasket. Even if it worked, it wouldn't be for long, and I can see it causing problems.
I would only even consider something like that if the vehicle had to get me home from a ways away, and then I would fix it correctly when I got home.
You'll be better off changing the head gasket(s)
Changed the oil, air filter, battery terminals, and AC compressor with my stepdaughter...
...on the XJ. Gonna be a little while before I do anything to the MJs aside from parts horses for awhile.
The harness has all the wiring in there already.
The difference is in the cluster. Idiot light cluster and full cluster circuit boards look very different. You do not need to do any wiring. Simply switch the speedos, and put the cluster in.
Either I'm right, or Rob's right. Only way you'll know for sure is to try it.
Put the 90 speedometer into the 86's cluster, then plug it in. If it works, great, and all you'll have lost is the tripometer.
If it doesn't work, then you'll need a different cluster. I'm fairly certain the electronic aspect is interchangeable.
