  1. I have both, a CJ7 and CJ8. Just about every thing on the 7 can be used on the 8, and vice-versa. Main differences through the years would be in the drivetrain - the engine/trans options and the axle width. The last year of the CJ's (86) could have the wide track D44 rear. The difference in the CJ8 is the lenght of the frame(extra body mounts also), the rear fenders flares, the tub(door pin back), the roll bar, and maybe a few more I can't think of right now. The grill, front fenders, seats, lights, blah blah - same - you will have to be more specific. Try here, www.cj-8.com, for more information on the Scramblers. Feel free to pm me if you have any questions, Rich
  2. :nuts: You are advising him on spelling?
  3. That is something my Dad would say, funny quote :D . I say why bother cutting the length down? Buy it, and wheel it as is? It could be because I am sick of conversion projects :roll: - Rich
  4. I have seen the Cherokee bumper on the rear of an MJ. I have a picture of it somewhere.
  5. Very nice job Hemi! Thanks for all the input, guys. Crutchfield says that they are 4x6, so that is what I will install. Everyone seems to have the Infinitt Kappa's, maybe I will go with those. Thanks again for everyones help-Rich
  6. Yep, I have some 6x9s taking up room too. I would like to be able to do the same thing :brows:
  7. I am getting ready to buy speakers for the Comanche, and I have a few questions. The back speakers are 4x6, correct? Any way to put 6x9's in there? if yes, how much modification was needed for the install? Anyone have pictures? :cheers: Thanks, Rich
  8. At least, tell us what the average shipping cost has been. That way, we can tack that to the top of our donation.
  9. I am going with the Rubi D44, it is a direct bolt in. This is just the new D44 housing, the shafts are still on back-order;
  10. I have always liked the look of the backbone winch mount at http://www.detoursusa.com. :drool:
  11. This picture makes me smile everytime I see it :razz:. I will be placing mine in the same location when I get the decal, and the jeep back.-Rich

  15. Pick up my new gears and lockers from Gear Works in Clearwater. I was able to get the new Eaton Elocker for the front and rear D44 axles, and the 4:55 gears for both. The new Rubi 44 front axle should be in in a few weeks, but the alloy shafts are on back order. This will be the only jeep I have ever owned that was properly geared and locked. I want to thank BwatsonCJ and the rest at Gear Works for the fantastic deal I got on these :cheers: :
  16. I had the same problem, this is what I found out in my case. The body shop guy was trying to figure out where the leak in the rear was coming from. I have my headliner out and he noticed a bit of light coming through. The leak is in the pinch seam on the roof. It is where the top and side meet to form the rain gutter. It appears that the two were never properly welded together. This made it seem like the rear window was leaking. HTH Rich
  17. So, you're braggng because your wife can teach you how to use a computer? : :rotf:

  20. That which does not kill us makes us stronger = aphorism. I learned a new word today.
  21. I see you made it over from FJOA :cheers: When did you get a Comanche? Welcome, Rich
  22. Yep, there is. I believe that the dealership sells them;Black left - 55015915, Black right - 55015914. I have never actually checked to see if these were correct, because I found them at the Pick-n-pull for three dollars.-Rich
  23. CoNewB, Welcome :cheers: I am over in the Tampa area, so we need to get a southern pow-wow going with rdp001 and Cabz. I would try LKQ for a replacement bed. They have pick-n-pulls all over the state. The LKQ in Clearwater has 2 MJ's in the yard now, and a third getting ready to be brought out. Here is a another thread on the topic; http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1988 -Rich
