They are expensive :shock: I am getting a dealer p$ but it aint much better. So it will be closer to $400 but it is an all metal, direct fit hood. Sort of a waste of cash but I really like them :?

I am frickin stoked. I just got an unexpected bonus from work, so I am going to start on my MJ now. I have talked with the paint shop and worked out a deal for the paint job, new cowl hood, fix the rusted out floor pan {I have already cut the pieces out of a MJ}, and the leak that caused the rust in the floor pan fixed . I am doing this first because the deed restrictions won't allow me to park it at home if it aint purty. Ooh, I think I have my TPI 350 traded for a new 44 front axle but I am going to have to figure out what is included in that deal. All I need now is a AX15 so I can order my TnT Y-link kit. I will be going down to the DMV friday to have the title transferred to me b4 I start anything...I know, what a slacker. I will be posting progress pics along the way. I hope you all excuse my excitement but I needed to tell someone. :-D - Rich

I lean back and forth :D I want an aw4 I just don't want the wiring headaches. I have a few other thing to do before a trans / tcase swap . just trying to get my ducks in a row :D Yeah, I would like to have the AW4 too. I was thinking that you would do it and tell me how it went :D When you started this post, I was really considering doing it as well. So I went to NAXJA and did a bit of research. It changed my mind. I'm not trying to say it could not be done, just that it would be MUCH easier for me to do the AX15. And I can rebuild it myself :twisted:

Cbaz, Did you get an AX15? I thought you were leaning toward the AW4?

Hey, what type of shocks are you using and where are they now mounted to {axle side}? Did you add some type of boomerang shackle to your lift. And my last question is where did you get the u-bolt skids? Thanks for your help, Rich :D

If they did, you may not be able to get close enuf to it and you would damage the YJs tires :shock: Mr. I have onboard air :P Call and ask if they would remove it. I really don't think it will be a problem to get it out. We would just have to lug it half way across the lot - Rich

:D You are going to need a bit of WD40, sockets w/ext, wrenches, and a pair of extra hands {or vice grips}. The bolts are not that bad. Should not be too bad to remove. Drum roll.....the pics

I hate to say this but I do not drive it....oops did I just type that? :shock: ! I have it parked at my folks house until the Ford Explorer, explodes. In the mean time, I am gathering everything up so she will be ready when I need her. I have2 other CJs that I am working on right now. So I have way to many projects. The tranny is working good, but I only drove it for 80 miles.-Rich

What is the difference, if any, in an AX15 out of a 94 wrangler and the MJ/XJ versions? A guy is selling one and I need to know what problems I may run into with this swap. Thanks, Rich

Mmmmmm......I have a extra fuel injected TPI 350 v8 and my choice of a rebuilt 700r4 or T19 w/dana 300. I don't know :roll: I think I am going to just stroke the I6. If anyone wants to do this conversion or trade any of the above for an AX15, Let me know. Its all for sale :shock: -Rich

I think it was in good shape. I did not get it because I do not need another hole in my roof :) They can't be asking more than 10 for it. I can get it to you for cost plus shipping if interested.
