no such thing as an 87 zj... they came about in 93 i believe. but you will have to remove the breaks and hub then the shaft should slide on out. personally i would switch back to what came in the MJ. go to the junk yard and find some with universal joints in them. i don't know what all is involved for the CV. hope this helps some
mine has been doing the same as well and finally crapped out. its not fun when you want to drive your truck and you can't. fix it now don't let it piss you off when it does go all the way south. easy job too. i think mine went from being drentched in oil for the past few years
thanks guys, all above suggestions will be tested. going back tomorrow to look at it some more with my grandfather and neighbor who are both smart and get work done. she should be up and running soon :D
so for the first time in one and a half years the mj has let me down. went to the grandfathers today to use the truck and she wouldnt start. totally dead, just made noise didnt even try to crank. tried jumping it off same thing. push started it and fired right up. so i figured the starter. is there anything else i should give a look at?
thanks guys
id suggest a Rubicon Express 4.5" lift. its what i have, its not too expensive for what you get and its reallllllly nice. i got mine with the xj add a leaf and put it in my pack, the back is a little stiff but i like it. hope that heelps
