Can Spell Comanche

Can Spell Comanche (2/11)

  1. Just did the same thing this week - $22 plus shipping off ebay. I would definately use a JY bottle.
  2. I'm not sure what a good "haunting" goes for these days, but $500 sounds like it might be a deal. Family and friends already think my Manche came with the "haunting" option, with its share of mystery issues.
  3. Since some of you said you've seen little news coverage of this, I thought I'd update. The autopsy today showed no signs of head trauma (related to the airplane landing). He died of heart failure, related to heart disease.
  4. This has been a local story for us, since Billy made his home here, and was in a Tampa rental home when he died. Coverage has been nearly non-stop since yesterday morning. Folks are trying to prevent any speculation that the airline incident is related, although the autopsy today may shed more light on that. Most folks here just saw Billy interviewed live on Saturday after the plane touched down, so the news of Sunday morning was even more of a shocker. They're reporting that he was scheduled for hip replacement surgery this morning and may have been on pain medication. I guess we'll find out soon. In our market, Billy is still leading every newscast.
  5. Thanks - I'll run those down today - haven't touched any of the lamp sockets yet. I did change the cluster a while back, and I do think they worked after the change. The fuse does blow immediately when I pull the headlight switch - they never get the chance to come on.
  6. Repeatedly blows the 5a fuse for the instr lamps, only when I pull the headlamp switch on. Thanks.
  7. My dash cluster keeps blowing fuses. :fs1: I've checked the ground at the rear driver's tail lamp, and it's in good shape. I checked my trailer wiring harness to see if any wire had developed a new inappropriate relationship with a body ground, and everything appears to be fine. I replaced my headlight switch, thinking something internally may have failed, and the new switch didn't make a difference. I removed and replaced the gauge cluster harness to make sure everything was properly seated. And I still can't find the short. I'd appreciate your thoughts on what else I might look for, or whether it's more likely that I simply missed the culprit in one of the areas I've already checked. Thanks.
  8. Great DIY thread on the cluster swap, including how to reset the odometer. http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=921205
  9. Well said (written), whowey :agree:
  10. :agree: Much nicer without that camper top. Looks like a good, clean truck.
  11. Never seen anything like that, but thanks Rich, I'm going to check mine in the morning.
  12. Thought love bugs were the state bird this time of year. Took at trip to Haines City in the Comanche a few weeks ago and almost needed a putty knife to get 'em off!

  14. Love to fish here in Florida, mostly inshore - trout, reds, snook. Redfish are my favorite, but wonder whether they're the same Reds you refer to. Don't think my Red Drum are freshwater creek dwellers anywhere, but I rarely get up north.
  15. Nice rainy day in Florida, so I have a chance to post some pics. I'm re-posting these first pics, as I inadvertenly put them in the Pub a couple months ago when they should have been here. Here it is - our "new" 88 Comanche - on Day 1 after a good scrub-down. It's a 4.0I, BA10, 5 sp, short bed, 2WD (but not for long). Some previous close encounter trashed the front bumper, but everything underneath looks good. Amazing that there is no rust on this truck. Truth is I really bought it just for the skull shift knob...Interior looks clean but it STINKS of animal (cat?) smell. Carpet is already gone and seat has been replaced with a new/old blue bench from Drahcir495, just up the road from me. Oh, those idiot lights are destined for the idiot junkpile. Couldn't resist this shot of the Manche w/Big Brother Bronco Got our new Rubicon wheels and tires on. They really update the look of the truck. Wheels are 16s, tires 245/75/16. Little bit of rub in the front, but we'll take care of that with our upcoming lift. Dumped those idiot lights for gauges - man it's nice to have a tach again. Great help from you all here in the forum for getting the new cluster and getting it installed. Rolled the odometer forward to match mileage. We've done a bunch of regular maintenance/repair items including fuel pump and filter, clutch, rear main seal, new exhaust...and the list will continue. New photos of our recently installed lift soon. _________________ Mark St. Petersburg, Florida 88 MJ - 4.0I, 5sp, 2wd (Not for Long)
