I will get her repainted one of these days. Leaning towards the 1986 type decals once I get her painted. Will look great with a roll bar with some KC lights! JohnQ Posted October 16, 2023 Author Share Posted October 16, 2023 My attempt at repairing my dash. The SEM paint is close but visibly different. I had no idea what I was doing besides my youtube training sessions. I think it turned out ok, but far from perfect. I couldn't get the texture right and the more I messed with it the worse it got. JohnQ Posted March 21 Author Share Posted March 21 Installed a GRANT steering wheel. Haven't decided if I like it enough to keep it yet. Might change it out for a cordovan stock one if I find one in good condition. Hooked up my REM unit. Still trying to figure everything out on it. I noticed the exact same issue on my drivers side rear of the cab. I don't exactly know how to fix this. Option 1: open the seam, wire wheel it, spray paint it, seam seal it and hammer it back together. Option 2: wire wheel the seam, apply an acid etch chemical with a brush and a syringe, wash it off with an alkaline base, dry the seam with heat then paint it and move on. Option 2 sure sounds like a more promising idea. I really hate to have to tear the seam open. I just don't think it'll ever go back together the same. I am prepping the bottom of my bed and going to spray it with black raptor. Also have a couple extra fenders and doors to practice on with the white. I'll post up some pictures.
