thej10guy Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 IMG_4557.mov And here is a video of a hill climb. My brother can attest to how steep the hill is, there is a number of jeeps that have tried and failed to make it up that hill. The locker in the back of this thing just let it walk up it without slipping a tire.
89 MJ Posted November 23, 2023 Author Posted November 23, 2023 And I picked up some inner fenders for one of the J10s. Doesn’t get much better than AZ metal. Now I just have to listen to them rattle 1700 miles home
Pete M Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 couple towels will keep them quiet. always remember your towel.

thej10guy Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 Maiden voyage is complete. Drove it to school this morning and it went well
thej10guy Posted February 16, 2024 Posted February 16, 2024 19 hours ago, Pete M said: feels good, doesn't it Yes it sure does. And……. It got new shoes! With the offset and the actual wheel width being 2 or 3 inches wider it makes them stick out a little over 2”, but it’s legal in WI, and it’s not nearly as bad as the trucks rolling around on 4” spacers with a big lift and stock tires.
thej10guy Posted April 25, 2024 Posted April 25, 2024 Not much for updates. Still driving good. Got both trucks out for pictures and then built a spare tire carrier.
thej10guy Posted May 1, 2024 Posted May 1, 2024 Put almost 100 miles on it one evening over the weekend. Driving around the back country roads around my house, had a blast. The sunset was beautiful. Also saw a small waterfall but didn’t grab a pic of it. The truck is pretty photogenic too.
89 MJ Posted May 20, 2024 Author Posted May 20, 2024 The orange got two hard days of wheeling this weekend. Plus two other days at home during the week. The G80 locker in the rear makes a world of difference. It was keeping up with many higher dollar builds. From the house: From Day 1 of wheeling: From Day 2 of wheeling:
89 MJ Posted December 1, 2024 Author Posted December 1, 2024 Passenger side front fender on the 83 has been flared to match the width of the bed. Maybe this truck will end up with a razor grille
89 MJ Posted January 12, 2025 Author Posted January 12, 2025 Found a little bit of rust in the right side rocker panel of the 83. It’s only the rear half of the outer and a tiny spot of the inner. We figured this rusted because the rear drains in the rocker got plugged when the truck was rustproofed. The inner patch just got welded in, hopefully the outer patch will be done soon too. And the orange truck (I think) will eventually be getting a chrome pig nose grille someday. We just need to get it from Tucson to WI.
Salvagedcircuit Posted January 12, 2025 Posted January 12, 2025 That rocker panel repair looks excellent! Nice work.

89 MJ Posted March 2, 2025 Author Posted March 2, 2025 He picked up a set of 2004 Ram 3500 axles for the yellow 83 today. D60 front and an AAM 11.5 for the rear. They both have 4.10s and the rear axle has a limited slip. Overkill? Definitely.
89 MJ Posted May 27, 2025 Author Posted May 27, 2025 Some welds at the rear of the bed tying the bedsides together started cracking, so they got fixed, some gussets added, and now a tailgate is getting installed.
