Well, he was able to pick up a straight and solid tailgate for it. It cost $200, but it was cheaper and easier than fixing his orange one.

picures of rust are tricky because that could be all surface like mine or pitted to hell

It’s somewhere in between, but no holes, which constitutes it as rust free where we are.

I’m kicking around the thought of driving down your way when school is out to hit some JYs for parts for this thing. He does have the rear bumper on the orange truck, and it’s fixable, but I don’t know if it’s worth fixing.

The LS and 4L60E are getting cleaned up and the computer is getting sent out to get tuned. He will pull the axles out of the orange truck to swap into the yellow one because they have better gears.

Man, the patina on the orange tailgate is what Ive been looking for to turn into a coffee table. Too bad were so far from each other.

74k mile LS getting cleaned up to go in the yellow truck. The orange truck is giving up its axles for the yellow truck and is being parted out.

It is really nice being able to lift the whole front end off. One of my favorite things about old cars.

Ending out and new one mocked up. We can even reuse the original Jeep trans mount.
