Pete M
2 down. although my excitement is tempered by the realization that I stole the rear speaker outputs from the radio for the subwoofer amp inputs.

Pete M
just ordered some stainless pipe plus new flex pipe sections and clamps. I'm going to have to slice out the rotted exhaust to gain access to the CPS anyway, so I figured it'd be good to have this on hand ready to go. on the advice of several other CRD owners I'll be deleting the muffler altogether and am curious as to what it sounds like. I'm told the turbo does a good job of keeping it from being obnoxious.
Pete M
finished reassembling the front doors today. ended up unable to use the donor doors' harnesses and had to gut them and install the old ones (that thankfully I kept). never throw anything away. Pete M
updates. removed the rotted exhaust, drilled a big access hole in the fender well, got the CPS out with an extraction socket, fabbed a new exhaust out of straight stainless pipe (still has the bend over the rear axle so I can keep my cool exhaust tip), and reassembled everything and made some promising (and cool sounding) trips around the block. but she's been sitting for a while when I was working on Breanne's MJ. a little too long. 3 of my 4 calipers seized up on me on the inaugural shakedown trip into town. tomorrow I address that. but the engine was revving like normal so I might have finally licked being stuck in limp mode all the time. Pete M
I was worried about droning at speed, but I don't even hear the exhaust over the other noises the Jeep makes. lol. today I installed some junkyard window rain vent thingies. 89 MJ
Sounds pretty rowdy for a little diesel. It's also good to see updates on this rig again.

Pete M
the exhaust is a work in progress. I was able to salvage the middle hanger from my spare drivetrain. currently there are stainless hose clamps holding the pipe to the hanger. I'm not doing anything more until the Jeep proves reliable.
