A commandment is an order or command to do or not do something, as in the 10 Commandments.

An amendment is an addition or change to an existing policy or document, as in the Amendments to our Constitution. An example - the Second Amendment.

thou shalt check under your carpet for moisture and rust

I looked under, cried, and put the carpet back. It's bad, real bad, and I don't have the skills to fix it.

if it was the only rust, I'd find a way to get it fixed.  if the rockers and bedsides are also toast, then...well... :(

Thou shall stalked local Craigslist and surrounding areas for Comanches or parts that pop up.
