Check out this Chevy dealer in Nebraska that closed down a long long time ago and is now auctioning off 30,40, & 50 yr old Chevys that were never sold or titled. If anybody is looking for some NOS parts gold, I would guess there will be a few gems in the auction, and you can bid online.

Wow! If you haven't scrolled the inventory list, danby said it best.......UFR! If mid 60s Chevy pickups are your thing, I stopped counting at @15 of them, all 6cyl, all with under 10 miles on them!!! I saw a 72 pickup, 350 auto with 3 miles on it, and a 76 and 77 4x4 with single digit miles. Crazy.......

I scrolled Wahoo - there was an Apache p/u or two listed with 8 miles. Would kill for one of thise. But with all the pub, prices will be crazy. Worse than Barrett Jackson. Whoever engineered this mysterious auction is either a genius marketeer or a great used car salesman.

You guys should read the history of the two Lambrecht fellas that owned this dealership....... they were clearly off their rockers.  When the remaining few cars of the previous model year went unsold....... he had his mechanic drive them to the field at his farm and park them...... outside, unprotected. I don't get his sales philosophy.... no car over a year old on the dealership lot at any given time?  He'd prefer to park "old" cars out of sight and not sell them? He even collected the trade in cars and because of "safety issues" refused to sell the trade-ins.  Huh?  :dunno:

Only 50 or so cars got stored indoors for any length of time, the rest, left to rot in the Nebraska elements until now.  While these cars may be very complete and the bodies straight..... the rust, mice and weather have taken their toll.  Most of the trucks have rotten, rusty beds. Many cars have rusty floors and trunks.  It's kind of bittersweet really....... if he could only have found a facility to have kept them indoors..... imagine the values!

Just so weird to see a car with rusty faded paint, in the weeds..... displaying the original window sticker.......

A nice row of "new" trucks.......

This is what the majority of the collection looks like.........

Sorry fellow Comanche addicts, but if I owned a Jeep Dealership I would have done the same for unsold Comanches in the day...just sayin' ;)

Can you explain the logic behind this?  I just don't get NOT selling the cars..... I mean, this is where the term "liquidation" comes into play.  When you've got excess/left over inventory, you still sell it at a discount so you're not stuck with it.

My wife, being the ever brilliant accountant was raising her eyebrows and wondering how the Lambrechts reported this to the IRS.  Particularly when they closed their doors in '96.  Since all of those "new" never titled cars have MSO's to Lambrecht Chevrolet....... they technically are still "inventory"....... :dunno:

I'm sort of biased as I grew up with a 62 c-10 suburban in my driveway.. I'd like an early 60s short bed with some patina and lowered on some nice wheels and a LS drivetrain... Okay okay I'm dreaming now ill stop haha

My father built this truck prior to my birth. It is my earliest automotive memory.
