jeepmarine312
okay please help, noticed today that in the front wheel well behind the tires i have a problem, a bad one I'm thinking. i have spring boosters in the front springs and noticed today that a part underneath is rubbing into them so bad that its starting to tear off some of it... i don't think they should be this close, even without the boosters they are really close to the springs... please help ASAP

Sunstone53
ok ill try and explain the best i can and hopefully I'm right. looks like because you had the rear lifted with those shackles and because you did nothing to the front you put the sway bar links at an angle to where they make contact. the brackets that you would get with a lift kit have elongated body mount holes so that you can slide the sway bar closer to the front or rear which would give you the ability to move the links away from the springs or you can put the old shackles back on. now I'm not trying to be a salesman here but if i am correct i can help ya out, i do have 3.5" coils for like $40 with never used sway bar brackets or you can have the just the brackets just take care of the shipping. hope i helped in some way. jeepmarine312
i did lift the rear, but the front has spring boosters, and the coil spacers in aswell. i didnt wanna be sriving around front bumber in the dirt haha, but thank you sunstone53, thats really helpful, and i may take you up on those coils. i am trying to sell a set of 31in tires 1 or 2 need the pin thing that goes in the tube you fill the air through (sorry its 2 am and I'm blanking on names lol). they have some wear, bout 50% i think, and i have 2 32's aswell that need the pins too. also got some american racing rims I'm trying to get rid of after i get the tires switched over to the jeep rims, i like them better. PM and we can see what we can do if you want, may be able to buy em from ya straight up too. and martin809 thank you man, and thank you for serving, sorry to hear that you had to leave... jeepmarine312
guys I'm lost, i don't know what to do anymore, worried if i don't use the right stuff my trucks gonna hate me and die... and i don't want that, I'm thinking either of going back to stock height or going with a 2" lift, but idk what i wanna do, any advice would be great... Sunstone53
depends on what you want, do you want a 2" lift or is that all you can afford. if thats the case bring your truck back to stock height and save up like $550 for a zone 4.5" lift cause i don't think youd be happy with just 2" of lift, i don't think anyone would. be more specific in what your looking to do because their are so many options and its easier when you say "i want something more stock" or "i want a trail rig" "i want a a little of both" see what I'm sayin
partsmj
If it was me, I would look for some 31's, factory wheels, and skid plates. Make it as reliable as you can. Take it on a road trip. I would use my money to got to the trails, and go to more trails, and then some more trails. August will be here before you know it. When you graduate and come home on leave, you got a way to get around. You can drive to your next assignment, if you are allowed to. It is nice to have a ride at school, you make a lot of freinds. Ha ha. Good luck whatever you decide. Semper Fi!
jeepmarine312
I'm looking for the steel rims with the black jeep center cap, i have two of them right now, and I'm either gonna put 31's or 32's under the truck, my mom has decided that she is gonna help some with the cost of stuff cause she actually likes the truck lifted, she orderer me 4x ranho shocks for comanches with 3" lift. and she is gonna help me get the sway bar end links also. also prob gonna sell my z racing rims on the manche right now, aswell as the bull bar if i need extra cash or if anyone makes a decent offer. that way ill have some cash to use to help with the truck... jeepmarine312
so just a quick update, as you know the sway bar ends were digging into the springs bad, and i didnt wanna blow anything out, so i disconnected the sway bar (hold on before you start going OMG!) i drove around a bit, hit different pavements, bumps, and all, took turns, and went up and down huge incline hills and IMHO it rides way better, much smoother, no digging into the springs, more flex when i went offroad... i have seen nor encountered any issues as of yet, the reason i am posting this is to see what yall think, anyone else disconnected their sway bars? and if so what do yall think? i personally love it, and in case anyone asks i am an extremely safe driver (cautious mother taught me to drive and was in a complete totaling wreck when i was 18, so made me more cautious) but when going round turns (slowly as i always do, and fast on two occasions to get out of the orielly's parking lot during FORT GORDON getting off work rush hour traffic) it handled amazing, actually better then when it was hooked up, and even before the lift which caused this issue in the first place. but yeah, please reply and let me know opinions and or thoughts, thank you
mnkyboy
I have quick disconnect sway bar links on mine so I can disconnect the sway bar when I go offroad. A lot of people remove the entire sway bar and drive without one on the street but its not very safe,it might drive ok but in an emergency maneuver you might wind up on your roof.
