I love reading these 97+ swaps, how much time has it taken to get the dash in and functioning? Something you think could be done in a weekend if you got everything -

Great! Thank you for the reply! -
I may have a chance to reach that damn jeep itch! Got a 91 comanche near me for sale. And I'm just wondering if by 91 they all had the 4.0 HO or were some still running the renix. Its a 5spd so same type of question regarding the trans, ax5 or 15 in these. And finally the rear was it a 44? I know how to I.d. an ax-15 and dana 44 but I'm just wanting to know the history to see if its original and have a heads up before walking in. Thank you ahead of time for all the replies!

depends on what you want, do you want a 2" lift or is that all you can afford. if thats the case bring your truck back to stock height and save up like $550 for a zone 4.5" lift cause i don't think youd be happy with just 2" of lift, i don't think anyone would. be more specific in what your looking to do because their are so many options and its easier when you say "i want something more stock" or "i want a trail rig" "i want a a little of both" see what I'm sayin -

ok ill try and explain the best i can and hopefully I'm right. looks like because you had the rear lifted with those shackles and because you did nothing to the front you put the sway bar links at an angle to where they make contact. the brackets that you would get with a lift kit have elongated body mount holes so that you can slide the sway bar closer to the front or rear which would give you the ability to move the links away from the springs or you can put the old shackles back on. now I'm not trying to be a salesman here but if i am correct i can help ya out, i do have 3.5" coils for like $40 with never used sway bar brackets or you can have the just the brackets just take care of the shipping. hope i helped in some way. -

just from experience that rubber coating dosnt do well in areas that are constantly coming in contact with something else i.e. floor boards it will just wear away and in a matter of weeks no matter how much time you spent on prep. herculiner or u-pol are better applications -
since your in the area do you know any 4x4 shops, junkyards or anything where i can get parts? or is u-pull it my only option. also what about wheelin? is there anything aside from beach cruisin?
-
and having no job yet but that didnt stop me from swinging by the junkyard just to see if they had anything and just my fortune they had almost nothing i say almost because they did have a 93' xj wagoneer and i been looking for one for quite some time so i could get the front clip so after fixing the damaged fiberglass and layin down some paint jailbird has a new face!
-
well its been quite some time since been on here to make any updates and the unfortunate truth is i havnt done really much at all due to both this.........
-
was wondeing what kind of offest you had on those wheels with the 35's when you put em on the truck, I'm looking to get the same stance and just firgured id ask before i go spending the money on new wheels

looks simple and rugged, thanks!

after 20 hours and 1400 miles on the mj i finally arrived in texas from san diego. overall trip went well with almost no issues. one hickup came just outside of yuma when i noticed a slight vibration every 100 or so feet. when i pulled over to take a look i saw that my drag link sagged a bit on the driver side ball joint. i tightened her up and continued on my way and had no further issues until tucson and figured this would be a good time to stop, get some sleep. when i woke i began searching for a parts store or atleast a junkyard where i could get a link in better condition than mine. there was no dice on the junkyard or parts store but i did come across a private owned garage and the old man who owned it didnt like the idea of welding the tie rod to the bar but he would let me do it. not being very experienced with welding i did the best that i could and it lasted the next 800 miles! so my next upgrade presented itself on my trip. was wondering if anyone had any experience on beefed up steering linkage, saw the rustys but don't like how the stabalizer sits in a spot to be bashed by rocks. price isnt an issue.

i would love to stop by and check this baby out, but I'm leaving from san diego and it looks as though traveling up to peublo would be a bit out of my may, i wanna make sure i will get to my destination with no issues. i honestly wasnt expecting such a fast reply for one. i don't expect your jeep to still be waiting in a few weeks once I'm settled into my new home but if so and i havnt found one closer ill hit you back up about it, if ofcourse i havnt deterred you with my "disrespect" for others thats been shown on this thread. i assure you I'm not as bad as i may apparantly may seem i just don't like being struck by a blind hand

always did find it to be a pathetic reach attempt to insult someone online with correctional grammar take that garbage back to class where your students worry about finals and what not but on a jeep forum I'm not concerened Mr.Butchershop. and no,its not good advice. its the advice of a man whos afraid of a lil confrontation or the advice for a person who is in absolute dire need, who has no place else to turn and can't afford to get on anyones bad side and since I'm not in such need that really only leaves you as being a man whos afraid of a lil confrontation wouldnt it? well i guess thats 2 bridges burned now, don't want anyone to think I'm just an @$$ here but don't come at me and expect me to fold over, i joined this forum to possibly seek assistance, give any kind of help i could and see some bad @$$ mj's not to have people jump on me when i havnt attacked them in anyway and then get but hurt when i retaliate
