Thanks

Yeah, those 2.8's I hear arent the best.

Yea, lots of problems with mine, though it may be a diamond in the rough. I can use 5th gear fairly regularly, and am getting somewhere around 17-18 mpgs with it, but its just been problem after problem with the carb and vacuum system, and now recently another fuel pump. But, 2.8 aside, its my mj and I love it, and someday it'll get a sbm

nice tailgate.  I just swapped a bench seat into my MJ.  I dig the hurst shift knob. I myself have a custom made (by myself) #4 poolball for a shift knob.  what did you use to clean up your taillights so good? mine are not bad yet but could use a "refreshing"

the 2.5l sure is a gutless motor, but at 292,xxx mine isnt showing any signs of dieying any time soon.

Thanks. There was a DIY on here on redoing it, might be in the earlier pages of my build thread. Its a can of Automotive clear coat, makes them shine really nice. Getting ready to do it to my Javelins tail lights too. Worked pretty good.

The 2.5 isnt as gutless as a lot of 4cyl that i have driven. I want to do some upgrade to give me some more power.

They are tough motors for sure.

Wow sure has been a longtime since a update........ And I still haven't got a lot done.

But Its coming along better now. I have gotten a lot of comanche parts stashed that I have got (and still more to come) here is what I have done lately:

Got an aluminum valve cover for $7

Been working on it

I love my small blaster works really good.

Had to replace some bolts in the valve cover, cut down some screws.

And the finished product

Took it to the parts store to get a brass fitting for the front and the guy thought it was stock painted! (Guess thats a good job) The bad part is there is a vacuum leak. I think it is from the brass fitting inlet being too large.

Also got a sending unit from a 91 2.5 sport truck

And remember the valve cover bolt I broke??? Got it out, I was so happy.

A little hard to see, but that was the broken bolt. No more leaky valve cover!!!!

Thats kinda all ive done for right now. I might be getting my tires swapped over to my Ravine rims Saturday at Automotive. I have to help with the Boy scouts getting their badges in auto tech, and might be able to swap them then.

Ive been working on the Javelin and Comanche at the same time, not the easiest thing........ Ill be going back to the yard this week. really wish I had more money. Could get a shortbed with practically no rust for about $200.  And there are so many Cherokees.

Ill have more soon, ill keep you guys posted.

Well I also installed 4 door JK shocks with only 500 miles on them ( JK weight 4800-5500lbs to my MJs mere 3300 maybe 3500lbs fully loaded). the ride feels good the height I achieved allows more visibility while driving but the cold weather is making my old truck squeaky and kind of jounceie over bumps but that's also comes form my wallowed out track bar bolts too so probably really nice but I'm in need of a few more repairs to make proper judgment.

All in all though I think if feels better, rides smoother, and looks like the height the should come form the factory.

Well what I was waiting on happening has finally struck.

1530602_807966052563457_197776171_n.jpg

Happened in the high school parking lot while I was helping set up a Robotics challenge. I new it was low, but then I came out later after lunch and it was completely deflated. Luckily my friends were there to help me get it off and take it to get air in it (Since my spare is bad) to get me home

I was hoping it would hold till I got my new tires some time this or next month, but apparently not. I am going to see if it can be fixed but I have a feeling it can't be, If not, it might be setting for a while.

Well my truck is drive-able now, it looks weird though.

1490656_812441745449221_1591557296_o.jpgI only had enough for the rear 2 but will be getting the front soon. It looks weird sitting there with street tires in the front and All terrains in the back, the rear sits up high. Its going to be looking better in the end though!
