I finally got around to gettting the much needed valve cover gasket. I was leaking oil all over the valve cover. Then once I started to pull off the valve cover, I noticed that the bolts were merely tight. Only hand tight! (PO!!!!! :fs1:) Pulled off the gasket, and the gasket was pretty new. (was leaking because the bolts were not tightened) The Valve cover right when I took it off. Some engine de-greaser A little bit of scrubbing and........ I cleaned up the silver lines some and now it looks even better. Now some may know that I am a AMC addict, and that my engine compartment needed some color :D I think it looks nice, a nice touch :yes: And the (somewhat) finished product!!!! The reason I said somewhat is because one of the freaking bolts broke when I was putting the bolts back in. :fs1: :rant: :mad: :wall: And my engine now is idling really high. So now I am going to take it in sometime soon and get it removed and replaced. She will have to hold right now. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
jeepmarine312 Posted June 7, 2013 Share Posted June 7, 2013 really like the build brother. keep it up, trust me i know how the slow build goes, I'm in the same boat man. but might be getting something nice in a few days :) also if your interested in a brush guard or something like that, brush guards off of rangers, s10's and mainly any mid size truck will fit with just a tiny bit of modding on the mounting spots. i got one I'm selling, came off an s10, might be selling it and a doubled up winch tomorrow for 200$ to get my new thing i talked about. but yeah man again nice MJ, and good job on the work. i do have a question though. why would changing the gasket on the valve cover affect the idle rate? Lately I have not made much progress. All I have done is replace the valve cover since the other one cracked. I also got another power steering pump, so that the screamin banshee would go away. Other than that there is not much progress. As for 4x4 converion, ill get the parts as soon as I can go back to Wichita. Other than that, I have re painted my front bumper with some spray paint, and re did my light bar with bed liner. I think that they turned out well. Tell me What you think Chase This stuff Is pretty good for re doing small things like this. Posing while I was fishing. :D Saw this on the way back from fishing. The windows were down I have had to clean my interior before, went mudding, got stuck, friend opened the door right when I floored it in reverse. Didnt want to clean my interior again. They were everywhere Friday night when I went crusing with my friend in his 66 Mustang listening to Halestorm reallly loud.
