jimoshel
Just bought a '88 MJ, 2.5, 4spd, 2WD. $400. NO RUST! Had to put 5 gal of gas in it and then jump start it to drive it home. The original owners manual and paper work from the dealership was in the glovebox. If any one here from Pa knows a Charles F. Benzel from Westchester, Pa, Tell him that his old Jeep is in good hands. :clapping: :wavey:

mvusse
Wonder if this was the one: Charles Frederick Benzel Jr. of West Chester Charles Frederick Benzel, Jr., 83, of West Chester, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2012, at the Crosslands Retirement Community. He was the husband of Ann Winslow Shelnutt with whom he shared 60 years of marriage.
89bhg
Wonder how many original owners might belong to this site. I bought my 89 shortbed Comanche (SporTruck, 4.0 w/ 5 speed) brand new in March of 89, at Renton Jeep in Renton WA. Always been garaged, has 49k original miles today (legit). Not only do I still have the owners manual and window sticker in the glovebox, but I've got the original color brochure of the 89 Jeep lineup ('The Jeep Book') that I snagged at the dealership when I took delivery. One quirky thing from back then - the passenger side mirror was an option. Go figure that.
Alexia
The one I purchased for the project has the original manual with the written in information. Original first title from Alabama, original insurance card, and everything else. The vehicle essentially has never lived outside of Alabama. Even had the plastic cover that hides where the mirror adjuster sticks into the cab

She drove it as her DD until '89 when we bought a Cherokee. It became my DD until '97 when I got a TJ. The Cherokee is gone, traded for a Durango in '99. The TJ is gone :( when our daughter came along in '00. But the MJ lives on!
