Hey, Brookline NH here, good to hear from some local MJ fans ('89 4x4 SporTruck shortbed, 4.0, 5 spd.). Might see my truck at the Anhueser Busch show this summer in Merrimac - if the bleeping snow's gone by then!

Wonder how many original owners might belong to this site. I bought my 89 shortbed Comanche (SporTruck, 4.0 w/ 5 speed) brand new in March of 89, at Renton Jeep in Renton WA. Always been garaged, has 49k original miles today (legit). Not only do I still have the owners manual and window sticker in the glovebox, but I've got the original color brochure of the 89 Jeep lineup ('The Jeep Book') that I snagged at the dealership when I took delivery. One quirky thing from back then - the passenger side mirror was an option. Go figure that.

oops, before I get corrected - shoulda said 1993-2001 Cherokee 4.0L's - last year for MJ was 1992..

I'm seeing an aftermarket aluminum valve cover available for 1993-2001 4.0L Cherokee/Comanche engines (made by Crown). That must be the "high output" version of the engine apparently? Any chance of finding such an item for an '89 4.0? Not looking good on google.. 89 Comanche 4x SWB, 4 inch lift, 32x11.50 BFGs New Hampshire
