Get a load of this, enjoy - think this is the hardtop cj-8??

Thought some of you might enjoy this, or be appalled. Either way. Think this is a Scrambler hardtop. Anyway, the body actually looks great, though it only takes up half of the whole machine :shake: . Btw, it's in my hometown of Fairbanks, Alaska.

Actually not as uncommon as you would think. The USPS ordered a smattering of these with the hard tops (Called the "World Top") for postal service. I think they were mostly ordered for Alaska.

That's really cool, a wrangler with storage space. What a novel idea!! Everyone decides not to buy one because they are not as practical who knew!

That's correct. The Overlander was kind of the civilian version of the AK Postal Jeep. Most went to Sweden and Australia. Used to see them a lot in Oz. Always liked 'em.

the green one was originally an "alaskan postal jeep," as they are often called. the window on the side was added by whoever put it on the chevy frame i'm guessing. it's not right for the overlander top. a guy here in michigan had one for awhile, wouldn't mind having one.

Yeah, the extended but still removable CJ8 hard top is not as cool as that factory hardtop that is part of the body. Cruising in one of those would be cool.

Wow, seeing the factory pic really changed what I thought about it actually. I liked it more! These things actually really remind me of LWB Samurais with hard tops.
