jimoshel
I have always liked the looks of the Waggoneers, those quad headlights, and the grill turned me on. Today I got one, 1988 Waggoneer, 4.0 engine, AW4 trans, 4WD, 117K on the clock, NO TITLE. Fella wanted $800. I offered to get it out of his yard for free. A half an hour later I got it for $400. My original plan was to swap the front panel and sell what i could. After looking at it, all those goodies, power windows, power seats, power mirrors, AC, toilet in the back seat that flushed automatically after use, and especially two front vent windows that open and close. After getting it home I played with it and got it started. Drove it around the pasture. Ran great. Everything works except the 2 rear windows. Shouldn't be that much harder to swap the wiring harness and go whole hog. Swap everything, plus get that deep red interior. WHAT AM I DOING? I don't need another project. Give somebody $5 if they come swap the front panel for me. The tires alone are worth $400. 10:50 15's, spare never been on the ground. End of sway bar rubbing againest spring on both sides. nice interior Sex on the hoof HARRUMPH>>>Mis spelled 'Wagoneer'.
neohic
... all those goodies, power windows, power seats, power mirrors, AC, toilet in the back seat that flushed automatically after use, and especially two front vent windows that open and close... You know... I've seen that on other Jeeps. I just didn't know it was a factory option!
vaquaro
Really like the Waggy look  , often thought of doing up the MJ in that style complete with faux wood  That would make it a "Comanchero"

500 MJ
As rare as these are, fix it up and drive it as is! Is not having the title the issue? I am finishing off an XJ that we bought last year. It was towed, no title, but the towing guy had all the paperwork needed for me to get a new title. I sent the papers in and the replacement clean title showed up a few weeks later. This one is in damn good shape compared to the ones I have seen!

One of the reasons I jumped on it without a title. Not be tempted to restore it. Not working to well because I am seriously thinking about it. Aw nuts. I hate changing my mind and making decisions. At the moment trying to make up my mind which MJ to use. Also wondering how it would look if I was just swap the front end including the doors and quit. Frankly I think it would look 'unfinished'. Have to run the wood panel all the way to the back and around the tailgate to look right. I need somebody good at PhotoShop to knock out a couple pics, Inlay stopping at door. Inlay going all the way back and short and long bed. "In order to reach old age, You must first live for a very long time. Jim Oshel"

Jim Oshel" The vinyl is readily available , the real challenge is to find or fab the moldings . I thought plastic panel molding might work or real wood water bent is also a possibility . There was a time when woodgrain door molding was common at auto accessory stores ( You and me are old enough to remember ) but I guess you could still use or wrap the chrome or black molding as a solution . The tricky areas are the cab corners and tail-light termination point . Surely someone has done this already but my searches have been in vain so far . :shake:

Here's other pics from 2009 through out forum: Image Not Found here is mine...it now has the H4 hella lights in it and work MUCH better than the originals...i don't care what anyone says i like i better since i painted it all blackhttp://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=17892&p=181881&hilit=here+is+mine#p181881 2007 http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3942&start=
shawn
it's a good looking machine. i would give the front end a bit of attention ( re-trim the flares and remove everything below the bumper). -also it seems to have a bit of a lift in the front only and maybe the chevy drop shackles would level it out by bringing the back up about 1.5 inches. these things alone would make it look great. ----nice score, btw. Not really the look I was going for. The door panels were the wrong color for my truck, so I got some of the Krylon plastic paint and painted/stained them satin black to match the rest of the interior. They turned out great and have been holding up well. I love having power windows and locks too. I could still wire up the power mirrors, but the ones I have don't work, so I'm not too worried about them right now. Here are some pics of the 86 Waggy donor. It was spotless when traded in during cash for clunkers. The paint even matched my truck. [img'][/img]
