Pete M Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 anyone know what the Pull-A-Part brand yards charge for random bits of sheetmetal? specifically, I'm thinking of cutting out some MJ rockers to take back north. I don't see that choice in their parts pricing. :shake:

When I cut the back of that SWB off for my couch, I asked before hand, explained what I was up to, and put a feeler out before doing all the work to grab it. Ended up leaving with it for $7.50. Rob

I called one here and the girl who is allways there told me $10.00 for a wheel arch. When I got there a guy told me at least $60.00 this was on a XJ. I dint ask them about rockers. Anyway if you can get a decent passenger wheel arch from a MJ that has a bent bed or something that makes the whole bed no good I would be interested. Pm me if you want more info such as how big a section and what you think it would cost me. I am trying to have my Classic to Current rockers (rebent) so they will fit right. I will know in a day or two how they turn out as there at the fab shop right now. If they can fix them I would be in for rockers also.

Must be a southern thing... and it can be quite a nuisance sometimes.... :fs1: :wall: Up here, there are a few rules at LKQ: No Alcohol No Jacks No torches The day I got that bed section I had a generator, extension cords, angle grinder, and a handful of cut off blades... Depending on the day, you hear generators all over the yard. Makes the job so much easier. Electric impact/air impact, saws, grinders... Rob

I have only ever seen one generator, but I've seen bunches of battery powered impacts, sawz-alls and angle grinders.

Last time we went the lady at the register wouldn't budge on anything :(

Most of the time the you got the big Bubba or the older-than-dirt guy behind the counter, but on special days like "Customer Appreciation Day" the owner would pop her head out: And on very rare occasions, the daughter would show her......face: Despite the fact that I was more than likely better looking than the majority of junkyard goers with missing teeth/ears/eyes/hair, there was absolutely NO flirting with the owner to get a discount, but I enjoyed her presence all the same. A nice change of pace from the usual guy behind the counter.
