johnr
anyone ever put a couple seats in the bed faceing backward?
COMANCHEROB4WD
No... but the kids have been BEGGING me to. They like to ride in the back of my / their Grandpa's truck in his fields (old farm). Figured it'd be nice to give them a seat so when we go over there to "offroad" in the fields / mud, they have somewhere to sit. I'm pretty sure this might be my next project so I'll keep you posted and I'll be watching this thread to see if anyone else has done it.
86customanche
Ive had one back there. It was a lawn chair not mounted or anything. ;) served its purpose though
johnr
i have some ideas running around in my head but i need it to be safe. I'm thinking of tieing something into the frame mounts for the factory roll bar.
cruiser54
Remember the old Subaru Brat seats? They had handles!! Probably never find them again.
nitroxsteve
I have been kicking around the idea of using a rear seat from a Wrangler. The Wrangler seat has detachable hardware that would allow the seat to be easly removed for storage. It also folds down if you want to put a tonneau (is that spelled right?) cover over it. jimoshel
Used the middle seat from a '68 Waggy in my '70 J10. My brother, his wife and kid would ride back there when we went mountain climbing.
johnr
I'm certanly not suggesting any one buy this it seems a bit over priced but it gives visual to build on http://bedryder.com/id47.html

Blue88Comanche
yesterday the JP magazine i was reading had a M715 with 2 roll cages (one for the cab and one for the bed) and the bed had 5 or 6 seats in the back, it looked like a cool family offroad Jeep, tomorrow i will look for it and post a pic
btm24
EVERY time I go out for a trail ride or mudding trip I go though some alleys and pick up some old recliners for friends to sit in. They all loved the idea and I could keep another 4 people back there with some type of Cushing. I would also take a bunch of crushes off of couches to keep back there. KYMJ
Remember the old Subaru Brat seats? They had handles!! Probably never find them again. There's a pair out in a barn at my MIL's she had a BRAT years ago. Didn't know they were worth anything.

Alexia
I have been kicking around the idea of using a rear seat from a Wrangler. The Wrangler seat has detachable hardware that would allow the seat to be easly removed for storage. It also folds down if you want to put a tonneau (is that spelled right?) cover over it. The 2004 to 2006 LJ rear seats are best for this. The track is one solid piece that mounts through the floor.
AMCJeepMJ
Dead thread revival! :)Anyone have any pics of seats mounted to the bed of their MJ with seat belt/sharnesses? I like the bedryder idea above but this could be home-built for far less.
