The death of a beautiful relationship

I find it very hard to believe that noone knows anything about my recent posts. Itcseems that cc only cares about facial hair and crap anymore, except a few

I have donated $$

Bought several items from members, which none ever worked or fit, so i just stacked the parts in my garage and bit my lip

And i have given parts away for free

I think i put in as much as i can for cc. Heck i even printed out cArds myself

So why are none of my posts (or several other members posts) being ignored?

When i first got on here everything was great.

Now it seems to be lagging out.

Why are none of your posts being ignored? I don't understand.

You'll notice that due to our small community the board has ALOT of ups and downs as far as board traffic goes. The board will be very busy for a few months with lots of new members and posts and then it will slow down for a few months with little of each.

I just went back the last 5 pages of the Tech section and The Pub. In the tech section, you'd started 3 threads. None of which had zero replies, and one of the had 77. Most threads do not get that big.

In The Pub, you had two. One was a thread that has essentially been posted by other members at least three times, and it still got replies. The other one was you, basically complaining that you're not popular enough.

You need to remember that, believe it or not, not everyone on this board knows everything. Not everyone is constantly logged in, and some of us are, quite frankly, sick of answering the same questions over and over when the information could be had instantly by simply searching and finding twenty previous threads on the subject.

In reference to the 77 reply thread of yours, you may not be getting the answers you want because you don't take the advice that you're given. You were told countless times that putting used gears in an axle is a bad idea, is barely cheaper than getting new ones, yet you still pressed for it.

You obviously haven't been on too many forums. CC is one of the nicest, well structured, and helpful sites I have ever been too. There's hardly any flaming, pretty much no trolling, and the mods keep everything in check. However, no matter how good it is here, there's no way for instant gratification, and not everyone can simply know the answer to your question. Nobody is paid to help out here. This isn't anybody's job. And if you're going to complain about not getting enough free help, then you may stop getting any, altogether.

Do you think that a :smart: teacher would get sick of the same question over and over again if he or she knew it would help out a student in need even if the information is available in a text book? Ill be the first to admit that I am still learning and need help often with my comanche, but when I see a post from a new member or maybe someone who has been on here for years that I myself have made a new topic about and got help with I feel privileged to share the information I have learned.

lets face it if people used the search for all of there problems there wouldn't be any need for people to post anything anymore. plus the search is kinda hard to figure out sometimes :hmm: :hateputers:

I love this club and I love my comanche and am thankful for all the help people are willing to give me.

as far as a rant about not geting enough attention soapbox.gif :thwak:

well I'm going to go drink some bud light and fool around with my truck .....or just sit in it and listen to the radio and get drunk  image_209027.gifimage_209027.gif   peace :jump:

Don't turn your back on this place. You'll regret it later.

Unlike the experiences you've apparently had, I've found the MJ community to be one of the best groups of people to buy parts from and sell parts to. I've sold many things on here and I've found many parts that I needed here.

This is the only forum that I check multiple times each day. The rest of the forums out there aren't worth my time.

I agree with everything Geonovast said. He's dead on.

This is the only forum i use. Or ever seen for that matter

I never even knew how to navigate when i got here

I got a ton of help, i know.

I stopped spending money on garages becausecof cc

And I'm just trying to do stuff as good as i can with the money i have.

I work from 4 am to dark. Itsxhardxto search for anything on here. So i ask instead of searching.

It just seems wierd that posts of facial hair is getting attention when there

Are way more important posts that need attention, not just.mine.

Some of us have come acustomed to relying on this forum for their vehicle repair

And ok 77 posts of info that i can't do... Find a d44. Put it in...i STILL can't find one.

And so what if i had a few drinks?

Hey Paul, I reply to you when I feel I have something to contribute. I've got a D35 with 3.55's you could have to get your truck rolling, but I am 1/2 way across the country.

Oh, and I think that hair thread is weird. I checked on it once and had no desire to return to it. :chillin:

Yep, the hair thread was weird, but that's Sir Sam. BUT the man does contribute valuable info to the community all the time and I respect all his posts for that. However you are just a whiner. You have received 100s of replies to all your questions, and always look for a way not to comply to all the good advice given here. Would be nice if "The Death" as you dramatically posted were permanent, but it won't be - you'll be here still whining. Grow up. And no, I'm not drinking kid. Jeesh.........

i think you're simply not educated enough to work on your vehicles without a "babysitter" per se.

CC can't be used as a crutch, nor any forum. in the end, it's up to the user to develop the skills to do the work on their vehicles themselves.

believe it or not, being a mechanic...be it hobby or professional, means that you have to be able to interpret literature. your whole dana 35 thread was pretty simple to understand..and you failed multiple times to understand the basic mechanical principals involved. maybe you understood it and just didn't want to take the advice (based on vast mechanical experience of the guys right here on the forum)...but generally, when multiple people all agree on something...the general consensus at the very least a proven theory, if not a fact.

I'm sorry that you feel the way you do. I'm sorry that I come across as abrasive, and I'm sorry that you don't want to listen to what we have to say. What more do you want from us than to offer advice based on our experience?

-Pat

p.s.

no one here is telling you that a dana 44 is your only solution...just that it's the best one. interesting that you hit on that note, when we actually emphasized how bad of an idea it is to use used gears, and that you were better off replacing the entire assembly.

I think this is exactly what's going on here. With one exception, if you actually spend some time using the search feature it does work. I know how it feels to be newer but I always read every one's reply and make an educated decision based on common sense. Not everyone is going to reply to your post just because they have an opinion or would like to offer assistance. I don't have any personal friends on this board but it has treated me very well. So don't get frustrated if someone rains on your parade just because you want to save a buck because we aren't buying in! Everyone has a different budget and a varying set of mechanical skills, not to mention the time to actually work on the project. So just relax and take the replies as you will, if not there's plenty of other sites answering questions such as ask.com or answers.com. Your choice and just to be clear I'll be here to listen, answer questions, give support, and/or help when I feel I have something intelligent to add.

I have posted a few questions here that didnt get answered. On the other hand, I have asked a couple of "Gauge Swap" questions and "Which XJ Seats fit in an MJ". Those two questions have been done to death but people still ask them and people still answer them. But at times things go unanswered.

For some sick, unexplainable reason, the people here like MJ's. This forum is not someone's job. When a question I ask goes unanswered, I don't take a couple of shots of JD, crawl in a corner and stick a gun in my mouth. No one here is obligated to do anything. But when they do, it is appreciated. People have a passion and they come here to be informed and/or entertained. There are no 100% gurantees on either objective. don't take this wrong but you seem pretty young. You have no reason to be upset and no one has any reason to search through your posts to see how many were and were not answered.

By the way, how many inches does the rocker style XJ seat rails raise the seats in an MJ?

One more thing to add. If you don't find the answers you need here, you can always check the Cherokee forums. There is lots of good info on those sites as well. The xj sites I look at are: jeepforum, naxja, Cherokeeforum, Cherokeetalk, jeepsunlimited. Check them out maybe you'll find a new "relationship."

I don't post here alot, but I do use the search option a ton. It may not be as good as some other sites, but it gets the job done, especially if you have some patience.

Like has been said, it's a fairly small website, but I've always gotten the best tech advice, from people who have done it themselves, share their info/experience and often link me to other sites. ''

And no one likes internet drama, cut that out.

if i may!!

the modernization of our culture has taken us away from the small village, extended family concept. the respecting of the elders of the tribe, clan etc, this experience has left the different cultures with, ( the i can do it myself ), attitude.

this forum provides a place to return to the extended family concept.

if someone gives bad advice, believe me, someone or many, will CORRECT the mistake.

if you choose to forgo our advice, then its on your head.

a side note, i'm very careful who i buy from!!!!

I for one liked Sir Sam's Beard posting. That's what the Pub is for. I hope to have many meaningless and entertaining posts in the future, in fact I hope the mods start a new monthly award for it. Let me go ahead and forward the motion for "The Most Meaningless and Entertaining Post of the Month Award". All those in favor say "I"!
