In the jy today window shopping and came upon this Comanche. Are these factory mirrors? where the mirrors would be have factory looking pieces. What do you think?

A good number of MJs did roll out of the factory without the XJ style mirrors. My 2.5 came with mirrors in that same spot, but they didn't look the same.

Crap pic, but I'm pretty sure it's the only one I have before I put XJ style mirrors on.

Those are not stock mirrors, there were three basic styles (the upper left one came in three options standard, manual remote and power remote)

Wow I've never seen that one on the bottom left.

Anyone have a good pic of that style.

Those on the lower left were used on the early base models and SporTrucks. They are what have often been referred to as the "flag style" mirrors.

Yup, my 2.5 came with them. And I hated them. I shouldn't have to lean back to use my side mirror.

Me either. Didn't know they existed. :hmm:

If you look closely at my signature the tan '89 has the "flag' mirrors.

I had those mirrors on my Sportruck and I despise them for two reasons:

1) They look like they should be off of some early 1980's Ford pickup (c'mon Jeep, a little originality would have been nice).

2) They put four very large holes in the doors so that when someone, like me, who wants to put a nice set of mirrors on, I'm left with four gaping holes on each door.
