  1. just what I thought... the gears are identical. not sure why morris4x4 only listed them to fit back to 91... so I'd just follow the link hornbrod posted and forget "factorychryslerparts.com"... they sent me an email after I placed an order telling me every part I ordered was no longer available!
  2. I am dealing with the same issue Skidoo. The gears at morris are listed only back to 91 and my truck is an '89 as well. From what I have read there was two type of the "long shaft" gears that changed in 91 :fs1: I went ahead and ordered a 31tooth long shaft gear anyway and I'll let you know if it works when it gets here in a few days.
  3. Done
  4. Truck built in 1990 but used in as a pace car in 1989?
  5. Since I still had it in Photobucket from the last thread about this.
  6. Dodge also used it in the Dakota and durango... Didn't know chev used them though. What side drop its it?
  7. As far as I know xj from 87-01, zj 91-98, and I have heard the liberty but I'm not sure what years. Some have different spine counts though.
  8. It is... made it extended cab too.. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=29424
  9. Yeah I'll let you know how it goes... I close on my first home in two weeks! So the project will begin in my new shop shortly after that. I got the 242 off CL for $70 with all the linkage and bezel, and now that I know I don't need to budget for a front axle swap I gonna try and stay under $100 for full time AWD!
  10. Thanks for the quick response guys!
  11. Hey guys got a new project for the new year! I picked up a NP242 out of an 89 XJ replace the NP231 in my 89 MJ 4.0 auto. The issue is I'm being told I can't do the swap without removing the CAD! Is this true?
  12. copy and paste that into my "good ideas file!"
  13. Quick Google search brought up http://www.snydercreek.com/realtree.asp took a bit to load but it looks like they got just about every camo pattern made and sell by the yard. I haven't pulled mine out to recover it yet but it doesn't look all that tough. I can't think of ever hearing of someone selling an aftermarket one.
  14. x2... same instructions I followed, only took about 30 min.
  15. Thanks for the help guys!! The system is blowing ice cold now! And also my valve was reverse thread. Thanks again.
  16. Good idea... I'll check the valve in the morning. The can is attached correctly when I open the valve on the can the gauge that on the hose immediately goes into the red and stays there, so I'm guessing the hose is pressurizing but nothing else is.
  17. yeah its not flowing at all...
  18. It's in the "trucks" section... about 3 pages over, kinda blue/gray.
  19. OK This is my first encounter with A/C... bought a "recharge kit" from a parts store but when I hook the can up the system won't charge... I have the fan on high and the a/c set on max. I understand the clutch won't engage when the system has low pressure so I used a jumper wire to the battery and got it to engage but still won't charge! :???: Any ideas?
  20. Here is my home defense/ccw weapon. It's a Glock 29sf 10mm auto = 11 rounds of 41mag power out of a sub-compact! I love this gun, it is on the nightstand every night and my hip everyday (without light)!
  21. Here's the crew cab version of it. excellent Photoshop work
  22. Searching for new gears and found this at rusty's.... seems too cheap! You guys see anything missing? http://rustysoffroad.com/mm5/merchant.m ... y_Code=RIN
  23. You have any issues with rubbing on the drivers side lower control arm? Mine at 10" wide rubbed pretty bad on the stock control arm, and still rub a little on the WJ control arm. How much are you lifted? No lift.... yet. The only rubbing I get is at or near full lock. I have looked into the wj control arms but haven't needed them yet, although I did have to trim some small pieces of inner fender in front and behind both front tires or it would not be drivable at all.
