Lenard Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 that one was pretty cool. I like it how in all the picture's and this video how Pete's truck is the first one
mfpdm Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 I would have never left that place. In this video, near the end you here a voice say "Get Out" Was it someone there saying that or was it the voice of the prior owner?

Wildman Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Great Pictures and Videos   Ok..........so.........I'm kind of :hmm: ............ With all the 'Parts' and vehicles "packed" into the buildings.......... How did the guy ever get any work done with out tripping over everything :dunno: (and I thought my shop was messy :headpop: )
Automan2164 Posted April 18, 2010 Author Posted April 18, 2010 The downstairs was organized until the kids got into there and started pulling down boxes, and raping and pillaging to parts... Rob L.
Pete M Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 it's been at least a couple years since he passed. how long before they just say that anything left in there is simply free for the taking because they need it empty? :brows: I'm guessing 4 years.
sinkrun Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Rob keep a close eye on that place with all the people becoming "scrappers" and door knocking looking to clean places out of there "junk" anything could happen. That would be a real shame to see all that go the the scrap yard.

That would be a real shame to see all that go the the scrap yard. :agree: Same thing I was thinking..........The "new" owners get tired of people going thru everything, and just get one Scrapper in there for a lump sum (2 cents on the dollar) and scrap it all  They seam smart enough to have all you guys go thru first, and not just to back a dumpster up to the garage. Rob - I get your point, things were upstairs and put away, then just pulled down and scattered around. I just thought it was always like that :teehee:
Automan2164 Posted April 18, 2010 Author Posted April 18, 2010 They won't ever trash all of it. It seemed like everything we took out, was suddenly something they wanted. I pulled a pot blaster and a bench grinder out, and suddenly the executor remembered they were there, and said "I could use both of those things at my house." Her brother in law(and the guy who got us in there), looked right at her and said "If you ever sandblast anything, I will $#!& my pants right here as I stand. Sell the stuff, thats why they're here." I guess my take is that if you wanted them so bad, why did it take four years of sitting in this garage before I pulled it out of the corner for you to remember that you need it? Oh well. They have a renter in the house, so until it sells and everything has to go, its going to be one big storage locker. Rob L.
Pete M Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 she said, "I could use both of those things at my house." yeah, I got that excuse too. :fs1:
sinkrun Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 I do estate buyouts and Antiques and that happens to me all the time. House can sit empty for several years and they tell you they got out all they wanted untill you start sitting items in the yard that you want to buy and all of a sudden they want it all. I have found everthing from dead cats, many rodents, crap measured in feet at times the owners will not even go into they want me to spend hours digging stuff out and they want to keep anything good.

I just realized the other day... that box of round headlight buckets and retainers... they took all the round headlight bulbs out of it.
Pete M Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 If it wasn't for her bro-in-law being right there, I might not have been able to keep the paint guns. I wonder if they actually took the hub caps to the AMC swap meet like she told me when they were yanked from of my pile-o-goodies. she took the cheapie filter face masks and some other stupid stuff. :dunno: I promptly took back the paint gun filters and half-can of PB blaster. :D

The retainers and buckets are in the box... every last one of the bulbs is gone. When I pulled the box out of the attic it had probably half a dozen bulbs in it also.

They were all probably original AMC bulbs. I forget the brand. My Hornet still had the factory bulbs when I bought it and the SOB I got it from swapped them out before he brought it over.
