Landoloops Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Found this at http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=296495 I though this was pretty sweet. I like the gladiator concept but man one of these with the Diesel they are putting in it next year. Maybe an extended cab too. Sign me up
JohnQ Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 I would trade in my Rubicon for that. I'll take mine with a HEMI please! :D
jbhill Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 oo ome likey! ill take mine w/ ford or chevy power plz :D
hemi_comanche Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 It really reminds you of the COMANCHE. Just the cab and whole front section are very similar. Very Cool 8)
Tonkatruck Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 Wow, thats 10x better looking than the actual vehicle... thats always surprised me - that Jeep known for its capable offroad and rugged machine never built a fullsize truck. You figure its the next logical step or atleast i would. I guess maybe they don't want anythign to compete with the Rams. Hmm... Its a shame tho because throw a diesel or hemi in that thing and it would be SCHWEEEET!!

Its a shame tho because throw a diesel or hemi in that thing and it would be SCHWEEEET!! Jeep made fullsize trucks 63?-73 gladiator and 74-86? J-seires(Honcho) The numberone reason jeep doesn't have a modern Fullsize truck is because Diamler doesnt want an inhouse competitor to the Ram
pingpong Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 The made the j-truck all the way up into the 80's. they were great... the j20 came with a ff d60, and a front d44. Yes it was a passenger side drop motor, but talk about cool. Lets not forget that they also came with a t18 tranny
Tonkatruck Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 Ya, your absolutely right. I know about the J trucks i just didnt think about it as i meant more modern and recent ones now. Like i said as well, i figure it is the competition with the ram they don't want.
JohnQ Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 I like the look of the commander flares, I wonder if a set would work on a comanche?
GirsMJ86 Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 that looks way better then the one i posted before on here. i will deff take one. alex

88swampedmj Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 i like it but i would want a single cab...iam not into double cabs..
feerocknok Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 i like it but i would want a single cab...iam not into double cabs.. Personally, I'd like an extended. No space for crap in a single, IMO.

89MJComanche Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 The numberone reason jeep doesn't have a modern Fullsize truck is because Diamler doesnt want an inhouse competitor to the Ram[/quo If they would wake up and quit making multi-platform POS vehicles like the Compas/Caliber and the SRT8/Commander/Durango and they would have made the Commander with solid axles and less bling then they would not have to compete with Dodge. I like the look of that concept, but if it has IFS and is not a simple, capable 4x4 then I am not interested.
89MJComanche Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Ya, your absolutely right. I know about the J trucks i just didnt think about it as i meant more modern and recent ones now. Like i said as well, i figure it is the competition with the ram they don't want. You gotta look at it this way... If they did have a truck still it would be nothing more than a RAM with a different body, probably IFS, and a whole lot of other crap that none of us really want in a JEEP
jeepaholic Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 Man you sure know how to destroy a man's dreams.
feerocknok Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 Was it the lack of demand or the in-house competition that halted production of the MJ?
Pete M Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 The leading theory is that Chrysler already had a small truck (the dakota) and didn't need two.
jeepaholic Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006  And i wouldnt take a dakota if ya gave it to me.
DansGreyMj Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 i heard that they stopped production of the mj so the dakota would have a better chance, i don't think it helped much
pingpong Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 The Dakota did well in sales mostly cause You could get a v-8 in them, and they had plenty of punch for a truck
