23 before it started acting up. 2.5 MPFI AX-5 3.55 on 205/75R15s

Haven't been able to check the 4.0 yet since it doesn't have a non-leaking tank in it. I'd be it doesn't do too well, since I have a tendency to hammer on it.

20-24 before the lift with stock rims and 30x9.5x15s with 3.07 gears

16-17 after the lift with 15"x8" steel wheels, somewhere about 6-7" inches of lift, 3.73s and 33" Mickey Ts. (no $$$ for lower gears right now), I'm going to throw my 31's on to see if it will be better.

It's a 89' with 4.0 and AX-15.

:shake:

it's more like gallons per mile, not miles per gallon

4.0/AX15/35's and 4.56's.....+6" (or so) of lift

Jeff

Yours should not be terrible Jeff. Our YJ has basically the same set-up and gets 17 around town.

yeah, but I'm running a shorty cat and a glasspack, and LOVE to hear the exhaust music and don't mind getting into the skinny pedal to scare the neighbors

Plus I'm carrying about 400 lbs worth of tools/chains/spare parts in my toolbox, plus an engine or two at any given time ;)

With my screwed up fuel gauge notwithstanding, I'd say I'm getting about 10-12 mpg. Far cry from when I first got it in stock trim and it was my DD....I was pulling down low 20's. Ahhhhh, those were the days....

Actual mileage corrected for tire size is 24mpg going 60-65, 19 going 70-75, 15 around town, 17 mixed driving.

That is an 87 (Renix) 4.0, AW4, 3.55 gears, 4wd, P235/75R15 extra load range at 41psi. Mileage has stayed the same after 4.5" lift.

My 94 XJ (HO 4.0) with AX15 and 3.07 gears get's 17 around town babying it, just under 20 going 60-65, just over 20 going 70-75.

So my Rexix 4.0 gets better mileage (24mpg at 60-65), but the HO gets better at high speeds.
