Drahcir495
OMG.. How did I miss this???? I have just read thru four pages and lows to highs emotionally!! I am SO GLAD to hear of the improvements!! I don't know hat I would do if anything happened to my wife! Couple years back when she rolled the WJ was the closest and luckly that Jeep saved her life!! I so glad to see she is getting the care needed to mend and get back home!! I'll keep you in my prayers and may god bless the both of you, CW Thanks bro! Its been a roller coaster right from the get-go but BIG NEWS! Even tho the small intestine is still stickin out her side [ya its gross trust me :ack: ], they have decided that until they re-connect it in 4 weeks, she can come HOME!!!!!!!!!!! Tuesday 23rd is the estimated 'outta there' date. WOO HOOO! Over four weeks flat on her back with bitchy nurses and crappy reception on the TV not to mention food that a goat wouldnt eat and they decided theres nothing more they can do for now so may as well send her home to begin the third phase of therapy. Now I get to take about a month off from work [leave of absence] to play Mr Nurse. I'm hopefully going to get some help with house pmt and utilities thru a 'employee in need' program at work cuz I'm months behind in everything. Lights and heat are about to be shut off, TV was shut off four days ago but I don't give a damn I don't watch it anyway but thats all she has so I guess I gotta figger out a way to get that back on. Burning wood to heat the place now [and sleeping with four cats helps too     ]. They capped the tracheostomy tube to see if she could breath solo for 24 hrs and she did so its gone now. Shes happy. That had to suck man I can't imagine having one o them :( Stay tuned....   I am very please to hear that she can go home . I can't imagine having and internal organ hanging out of my body, let alone having the doctors say it is ok for the time being. 2nd you on the Trach :ack: . ~ You know, if things get really bad, the cook at the Chinese restaurant down town says Kitty Kitty tastes just like chicken :brows: - just a thought. Hey check your PM, I believe I might be able to do something for your time at home :clapping: . - Rich

XJs4Ever
Actually things took a dump on us. she came home last Tues, but three days later I had to call 911 and get her in again. She was puking bloody mucus and it turns out she was suffering from massive dehydration. Her potassium and electrolytes were all messed up too. Shes still in but is getting better and the surgery to connect the illium is so far the 19th of March. Without going into alot of details, the rehab place screwed up bad and we are retaining legal help and plan to nail that funny farm with a suit. She lost 20lbs in the "rehab" place! :dunno: Me - I'm itchin to do some moderate wheelin ASAP!!!!! :wall: I'm goin CRAZY and will snap if I don't have some fun - dang soon! dakal
my wife has been a nurse for 25 years, and what happened to your wife is a total lack of caring about your patients and your vocation. nail those pukes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! jtdesigns
Yes my brother.. keep the faith.. and don't go doing something crazy to release the stress.. well in your MJ that is.. get a punching bag.... that'll help relieve bunches of stress... I think I'm going to get one come to think about it.. Hoping for the best and doing as much as you can for her is pretty much all you can do.. Just her knowing your there, and reassuring her she can pull through is probably what she needs more then anything.. The mind has a whole lot to do with healing.. XJs4Ever
my wife has been a nurse for 25 years, and what happened to your wife is a total lack of caring about your patients and your vocation. nail those pukes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously - her meals were overlooked 2-3x and she wasnt even fed at all sometimes. Her meds were not on track and sometimes were 45 min late which pushed the next dose way behind scheduled times so she didnt get them at proper intervals. She had an itch on her back last saturday and had a nurse scratch it [at the new hospital] and it was a fentinol patch!!!!!!!!! it was put on feb 21 at the rehab place. That is a time release patch that should have been off in 24 hrs but noooooo it was never removed. She had a picc line in her left arm and NO VITALS ARE TO BE TAKEN BELOW THE PICC LINE but they consistantly took them from the same arm. CHRIMINY!! I was an EMT for 5 yrs even I knew that. The opening in the illiostomy bag should only be the diameter of the intestine but they were cutting the hole at max size so all that acid sat against her skin 24/7 and burned her horribly and caused a staff infection on her skin around the wound site. DO YOU THINK WE HAVE A CASE??!!! Dammit I don't want money I just want them to be forced to get their act together and FIRE those incompetant idiots who can't follow proper procedure. This isnt an auto shop - I thought it was a HOSPITAL!! You know, a place wher people are supposed to be um er uh whats the word.. oh ya - PROFESSIONALS! yup we're PISSED OFF! And someones heads gonna roll for this one. :fs1:
BLHTAZ
  My God... I don't know what to say... You may not want money, but you surely deserve it. Money is the only way the legal system has of trying to make retribution for something like this and you will need at least enough to pay legal fees too. I know money can't fix physical and emotional scars, but it can help make the cost of recovery a lot easier. I am not saying to go after them and get rich from this, but you deserve something other than satisfaction that the incompetents get proper punishment. Ya'll will remain in our prayers
Drahcir495
So sorry Rick :shake: . Unfortunately, the only way you will get them to change is by either hitting them in the pocket, or having Media attention drawn to the problems. In a world where malpractice & abuse are the norm, this is hardly news worthy :fs1:. Nothing will get quicker results then taking money out of the Big Wigs pockets. I think, in cases like this, it is an honorable thing to do. Spare the next unfortunate person the pain and suffering that Cindy has gone through. I keep forgetting to email you this, but your packages were sent out. I am sure you have some decent neighbors looking out for you and your place, so let them know. Still in our prayers - Rich

XJs4Ever
Time for an update... Got her home about a week ago after the second 911 call for an ambulance. Still has the ostomy bag on, and all that used to come out the tailpipe still goes into a bag and thats a drag lemme tell ya not fun at all no way no how. But she is eating like a horse all day I am cooking this and that soup sandwiches etc etc etc she is drinking water a gallon a day, pop instant breakfast GEEZ mon! If I didnt know better I swear she has a bong and two kilo's up there I have NEVER seen her eat like this before! She has a plate with 8 screws into the leg and 2 more screws into the ankle and they put her into a walking cast that she can take off to bath and stuff [with a shower seat provided by one damn decent human being here on this group who I will include in my will]. She won't get the intestine reconnected until middle of April so we gotta deal with that a few more weeks but its getting to be less a chore than it used to be. Ya get used to it after while ya know? I had to go back to work a few days ago cuz the vac time ran out so I set her up with a cooler full of food/drink to keep her comfy till I get home for lunch and ultimately for good in the afternoon. All in all she's recovering very well and knowing that after I almost lost her the first 2 days and a clergy was standing by we are thankful for everything. Especially all the positive thoughts you sent our way as you can see it DID help and one who was not especially religeous I am now reconsidering my beliefs because we feel a miracle did happen and a second chance has been given. It will not go un-noticed as I have begun to expand my spirituality to include that which I was not convinced was legit but you know I must say that I opened all doorways during this to allow every avenue its fair chance and I am genuinely enlightened by what was presented to me/us. Made a believer out of me. Guess your never too old to change eh? Thanks people. Words are inadequate to express our appreciation. BLHTAZ
Very glad to hear that things are progressing well amidst all the incompetance. When I hear people say that they don't believe in God, or that the Bible is just a good "story" book to model your life after, I just shake my head and hope that one day they will get to see the real power of God. It appears that you and Cindy have had the chance and can truly understand that there is a God and his power is beyond what we can fathom. He has blessed both of you and I can only hope that you will return the favor and let folks know what you now believe. Our continued prayers are with you!
