MiNi Beast
I'm bored and was told to haul away my XJ before it is towed because it is not street legal so it has to go. I think she looks better. Feels good driving it around. :D

mvusse
In most states a windshield is not necessary if you wear goggles, safety glasses or full face helmet. Same as motorcycle.

mvusse
A cracked windshield will obscure your vision. A removed windshield will not.

MiNi Beast
Illegal in MI. 257.708a Windshields; goggles, eyeglasses, or face shields. Sec. 708a. A motor vehicle shall not be operated on the public highways of this state unless it is equipped with a windshield of sufficient dimensions to protect the driver and occupants from insects, other airborne objects, and highway surface water and debris, when the motor vehicle is moving forward........... xjcrazy09
haha i hope you just stopped typing cause the end of that sentence made it sound like you didn't need a windshield as long as you were going in reverse. :D

In that case just re-gear it so that you can go highway speeds in reverse, problem solved. :rotfl2:

Eagle
A cracked windshield will obscure your vision. A removed windshield will not. Correct. I'm not certain, but I'm pretty sure that's the case in Connecticut. Otherwise it wouldn't be legal to run a CJ or Willys with the windshield folded down. DirtyComanche
How it works here is if it was factory, it's fine. So you can't take the doors off an XJ, or the windshield out, but you could on a CJ. Get a hunk of lexan and screw it in place.
wooky48
I don't know about the requirement for a windshield BUT around here where I live, as long as it's insured and tagged not much can be said :brows: .
