New brake booster and the brakes are still hanging after about 5 miles. They let up when I take the vacuum line off of the booster. Also running really hot, despite fresh coolant, new thermostat, water pump, 3 row radiator. Getting tired of stuff keeping me from driving.

parts and deals on Market place

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1126291777754788/ I was getting excited until I saw the front and rear damage, especially the rear. Decent interior though. -
Tossed some fog lights on that I had lying around. They won't stay, but may be replaced with some Hella 550s or 500s.

A/C whats the difference?

Another thing, if you're using R134a in R12 components, use 80% of the R12 refrigerant charge spec. -
I've been driving the MJ for a while now and have noticed occasionally the front brakes will get tight and drag. I had replaced the calipers and brake hoses, lubed the pins and slides and still, the same thing. Well, finally, I took the brake booster vacuum line off and they freed up immediately. My WJ booster is bad. Ordered a brand new one, hopefully that'll take care of it.

The interior is pretty much together. I redid the headliner. It came out decent, not perfect at all but, so much better. I need to get the passenger seat cleaned up and installed and the interior will be done other than a few minor screw caps, etc. I put the old blue visors back in for now till I can get good gray ones. You can also see the Euramtec B pillar lights, and my new footwell courtesy lights. The AC is working well, finally got the vents working, there was some blockage in the hard vacuum line on the firewall. Guys, it's actually getting close. Feels weird to see the list of things shrink. Gotta figure out these axle bearings yet, but she's doing good otherwise.

The AC works!!! It's quite the system, 94 XJ compressor, both lines to the 93 XJ expansion valve are from a 96, the filter drier, condenser, and lines from the compressor to condenser and condenser to drier are new and for a 94 XJ.
-
Back apart comes the header panel as I go to replace the AC condenser for one that will work with my 94 XJ lines/compressor.

I ended up buying a Dorman overflow tank (603-001) and mounting it more or less in front of the blower motor. It was a new small enough tank for $7, so it's a win.

Plenty of dumb battery locations. A lot of the cab forward Chryslers required removal of a front wheel and fender liner. Saturn Sky requires removal of the RF fender. A lot are in the trunk now, along with coolers, subwoofers, random dirty clothes and half eaten food.

I looked the address up in our shop database, it belongs to a customer of ours, it's a 89 4.0. Last time it was in the shop was 2005.

Found this poor neglected guy in my town.

I did lube it a bit. The window tracks were very dry, so I used my favorite product, Lubricone. It's made by Kano Labs, makers of Aerokroil, the best penetrating oil I've ever used. That stuff is magic. I can't tell you how many people have brought their cars saying they needed window motors and a few squirts of Lubricone had them working fine. Seriously, any sliding part aside from metal on metal I would highly recommend it.

The interior is slowly coming together. Waiting on headliner fabric. It was a real pain fitting all the HO XJ dash to MJ rear adapter harness, all the power window and door lock wiring, and everything else behind the driver's kick panel with the parking brake right there. It's in need of some cleaning yet. The passenger window motor is slow, but I'll deal with that when I put new window seals in. I hopefully have all the parts now to piece together a mashup of the original condenser and evaporator core with the 94-96 R134a compressor, accumulator and lines.

These are a huge hit at any party (after social distancing is lifted, of course.) Jalapenos cut in half, stuffed with pimento cheese, wrapped in bacon, dusted with brown sugar, hickory smoked for an hour at 250, then broiled a bit to crisp the bacon some. They're finger licking good.

Has anyone had luck reaching them? Tried email and calling, no luck so far.

So just at first glance you'd need stock springs, shocks, sway bar links, track bar, and go spring under again. Not sure about the brake lines/ driveshaft.

They were great little trucks. I had a 89 Mighty Max that I got for free with 53k original miles. It wouldn't start, but it did with new spark plugs and a battery. It was fun but SLOW. The little 2.0 was factory rated at 88hp. Mine was an automatic with AC and power steering. Quite a few of these trucks didn't have power steering. I lost a race from a red light to a Grumman LLV mail truck and they weren't even racing. I could literally feel a drag on the engine when I ran the high beams. Drove it from SC to AR in one stretch, no cruise, top speed of about 65. Had a very sore leg after that.

Rewired the door lock relays to be ground triggered and added a parking light relay so that the lights can flash with the keyless entry. The remote start/ keyless entry is installed now. It has a pretty good range. Installed NVX 4x6 speakers in the rear. Have some cheapos to toss in the front until I figure out a component setup.
-
That's a lot of work, but you're doing it well and it will last.
-
Just curious, how hot do you want to go? I built a smoker from an oven and rewired it to 120V and only used the lower element and it'll hit 300F+ easy. A PID controller box plus SSR isn't hard to put together and would give you very stable temperatures. Also, if you look up the replacement elements, they'll have a wattage spec.

More problems, after driving a few miles around town, the front brakes began dragging and smoking. I've got new calipers to throw on the front, hoping it doesn't need a new WJ master cylinder. My thermostat housing gasket started leaking. There's a roaring noise from the rear end, sounds like wheel bearings. I pulled the LR axle shaft, the outer bearing didn't seem chewed up or anything, but the wheel has some play. Don't plan on spending any money on the D35, but not sure if the 27 spline 8.25 in the donor XJ is worth going SOA for. I did receive new 4x6 speakers for the rear and managed to get the power door lock and window wiring working, haven't swapped over the regulators yet.
