  1. Just put a radio in the Mild build. Nothing great but I for one don't like to hack the bezel, so I used the factory mount and put it behind the bezel. Not the best fit but functional. Not to shabby for a $20 JY special. :brows:
  2. X2  And yes, this place is like a drug you can't get enough of. :chillin:
  3. Just found thisCLICK HERE on ebay. I've never heard of one, but it is kinda cool. Maybe not 92K cool but I guess someone with lots of money will buy this RARE Rubicon.
  4. The only thing that concerns me about the JCWhitney window weather stripping is that it is cut to fit. Would be fine for the front of the window however the rear has a near 90 degree bend which the MOPAR one is molded for. Without that molded bend, over time, it would work its way out trying to return to its original shape. To me, fitment and quality, is worth paying for. Just my 2 cents.

    County Laws

yea the whole political correct thing has gotten way out of control. It's like in the service, you have to be very careful or you'll be in front of the ole man losing a stripe. The kinder gentler Navy they call it. I much preferred the boot in the @$$, get out of my face you maggot, or I'll wipe the deck with you Navy. Anyhow, on topic, they got rid of are stickers here too and just charge the property tax as well. Also, something I found out today when I opened the plate renewal notice from DMV, they are starting to charge an extra $5 if you go to the DMV office and get your tags renewed instead of doing it through the mail or on-line. They say this is to save the state money because they will cut jobs at the DMV due to less traffic. I'm sure the DMV workers love this idea.
  6. I believe that the two piece one is for cruise control and the one piece is without.

    Junkyards??

If they are like mine here, they can get away with it because you sign a waiver when you go in which makes them not liable for your stupidity. :D
  8. I was looking along the lines of using a cam lock like this, and attaching harden steel rods to the lever so that when you turn the key, it would push the rods into holes in the side of the tailgate to lock it in place. Think of it like the single locks/closer on a camper top.
  9. Wow, you just put another thing to worry about in my head. I had not even thought about this, but with MJs getting harder to fine, and a nice tailgate even harder, this is a true concern. I had thought about how I can put a lock in the handle so you can lock the tailgate. This will be useful for one, keeping the tailgate from being stolen, and two, with the solid bed cover that I plan on using, it will keep the contents of whats inside from being stolen.
  10. I wished I had. The day I did all the work trying to figure it out it was a 110. Felt real :dunce: when I found out. Anyway good luck.
  11. I just measured mine and it came out to the 15/16 also, which if you convert to mm it's 23.81mm. So with that said I guess I'll go with the 23mm ones. I figure you need it to be a little snug to provide resistance.
  12. Thanks Motion. I was thinking that I would end up having to measure it just to make sure. Was hoping they had a standard for different apps but after all the looking, it seems what ever was availble at the time is what they put in.
  13. I'm trying to replace the swaybar bushings in the Wild build but can't seem to find what size I need. 3 different parts stores have given me sizes anywhere from 22mm to 28mm. Parts catalog gives me 26mm and 28mm. No numbers on the bar itself. 8652001144 is the number on the bushing but it seems the parts stores can't cross it or when they do it comes up with different sizes than the parts catalog. So does anyone know what size swaybar bushing that a 88 Pioneer, 2wd with the 2.5l is suppose to have.
  14. I went through this problem with my horn. Changed every component and still didn't work. Then just for the hell of it, I cranked the truck up and boom, the horn worked. I never would have guessed that the horn would only work with the ignition on. I guess that is 20 year old technology for you. If you have been working on it with the ignition off, you may want to turn it on. :D
  15. This is a growing problem throughout the country. People are stealing plates, going and filling up at he gas station, and driving off without paying. The camera's record the car and plate, but low and behold, they don't match. :shake:
  16. Yes they do. :D Have a set for the 88 when ever I get that far along with the project. Was thinking about trying the dakota's on the 86 lwb. I think they would look ok if they fit and provide a lot better view.
  17. Was out at the JY this wekend and was wondering if the Dakota mirrors would fit the MJ. They look as if they would however it was way to hot to do any experimenting this time out. So has anyone tried it. They would be way better than the stock ones I think.
  18. Oh come on. Don't give up that easy. It can work you just have to figure it out. When you do, make a write up in the DIY section. :D
  19. Just think sling shot. This damn thing sucked up 2hrs of my life. But it was fun. :D
  20. Looking good but I've got to ask, why don't you want to swap the fenders to 97+?
  21. 33x12.5x15 Dick Cepek FC II's. Great all around and have good road manners. However they are a little pricey new. Regardless what you go with, you should be able to get a good deal on used ones if you keep your eyes open. Many people are dumping their larger tires due to higher gas prices. I see great deals here locally everyday. A lot are trade deals for smaller tires. Good luck.
  22. My identification plate was on the firewall above the brake booster. Paint code was on the second line I believe.
  23. Reminds me of that TV commercial that was put out by RAID or Orken a few years back. Looked like a normal commercial, then a big roach walked across the screen. Some woman tried suing them because she freaked and threw her shoe at it and broke the TV.
  24. Very clean look. I like it. :D Is the tire in the bed just propped up or did you mount it in there? I've been looking at different ways to put one in.
  25. Looking good Pat. I had wondered about the TJ shifter. I like the look and feel better than the one in the MJ. Since we're going with the 242 though I'd need and extra position. Been looking at the ones out of a grand. I really like that grille but I think it would look better on my 86. :D
