  1. this belongs in tech. anyways, the dana 35 rear axle has an oval-shaped diff cover. the chrysler 8.25 rear axle has a circular cover. the dana 35 should be high pinion and the 8.25 is low pinion 1.) The D35 was never high pinion...only low pinion. ;) 2.) The 8.25 never came in MJs. Only the D35, and the D44. ;) Yours is a 1989, and if the diff cover is oval, its a D35, if it looks like this (see pic) then its a D44. aha, you got me. you're looking at XJ (cherokee) lift kits. you need to not do that and look at the comanche ones. you'll need the Add-a-leaf for the comanche, and the rear shocks are all different. you probably have a dana 35.

  3. they're fine, but honestly how do you see out the windows  :P
  4. I have a few of them. pm me
  5. k-razy
  6. and she's got another 8" easy. nice
  7. as 99 said, it will take using the bracketry from the xj to make it work.
  8. there's no need to custom mount anything if you get the bracketry from the cherokee.
  9. remember to send in a fusible to power everything in the cab and your tail lights...you cut those out too.
  10. not sure what the other 2 points are, but... if I were you, I would run the truck with the 4.0 harness intact, remove what's not needed from the harness but use the fusibles etc. to power the interior and so you don't have to rewire your starter relay or anything. then I would run your 4.3 harness (a painless one I'm guessing?) seperately. you will need to use the 4.0 gauge sending units ON the 4.3 in order for the gauges to work, but that's easy. when I did my 3.8 swap I used the camaro harness and pulled everything I didn't need from it. here you can see the camaro fuse box, engine computer (it's waterproof under-hood), and you should be able to trace the seperated harnesses as well ...and the pile of wires I searched through stock oil pressure sender but on the 3800
  11. what is the rear driveshaft length for a shortbed, automatic (AW4) 4.0 MJ? then, Smitte, can you measure your rear driveshaft. I'm not sure how to measure shaft length so hopefully someone here will tell us how. EDIT: this is a 4wd equipped truck (or will be when I'm done)
  12. yes, it's worth it at that price, BUT you need the interior harness for the dash, the heater assembly for it and controls, the speedo cluster and such, and the correct sending units for the gauges (reverse polarity gauges. you'll probably need the engine bay harness too. hopefully you have a 4.0 already), as well as the mounting tabs for it and the heater vent tubes etc. it can be installed, it's really not that hard, it just will take a bit of time to get it done
  13. 89 comanche 4.0 auto 4wd diagnostic connectors, in case you need them firewal connector that's the firewall "bulkhead connector" view anything else? remember, this view is from looking at the connection side of the connector, so things will be flipped to the other side when looking at it from the inside of the cab, but if you've disconnected them and look at the connector side it's identical to that. -Pat
  14. :P I prefer alldatapro.com...but that costs money to use. chiltons beats hanes by far IMO
  15. worth about $50 or so. not much, like the np231 they are a dime a dozen. well...those are the prices to my knowledge that I've seen.
  16. Yeah, but not very user friendly. Why should I allow them to spam me, just to find out if they are competitive? *shrug* I just gave them my aim email...I never check it and I programmed AIM not to alert me when I have mail. I use my other 2 or 3 emails regularly though.
  17. DHL registration/account is free
  18. yea but the np207 is the little bro to the 231, and it's a piece
  19. I've seen 2 comanches with factory 242, and one was a 90 shortbed base model, but the owner ordered full-time. the other was an 88 or 89 but I don't think it was original. I have a 242 case going into the 3800 in a few weeks :D but that's just cause I got lucky and the 90 xj should be 21 spline input, which works with the ax5 tranny in the 3800 8)
  20. rough country.
  21. I'm behind already on stuff for others on the club, gonna get caught up this week but yes, I can. I'll do it on construction paper and an X-acto knive to get it exact, and then fold it up and mail it to you for. pm me your addy etc. anyone else? remember this is for the stock step bumper, it may need some alteration in distance from frame if you have a HD rear bumper on it (like the diamond plate ones from factory)
  22. you look a bit cramped in that last one
  23. ummm...we're on the internet. and we can ship. and we actually know more about comanches than some hobo with an ebay acount ;)
  24. if you have a good older hood for your engine (i.e 4.0 vs 86 2.8 style/2.5 style), you do not need a new hood. they're the same.
  25. it won't have an np242, sorry.
