  2. good info thanks, ive glanced at it a few times but ive got to pull my dirty floor mats out to get a good look, tomorrow ill be doing a bunch of random work on the truck so itl be in the garage for the weekend ond i wanted all the info i could before my fingers were to greezy to type
  3. the switch is adjustable... thats what I'm after...thanks much
  4. so i noticed when checking my tail lights in a window reflection, that there not as responsive as they should be. because ide prop the brake pedal with a stick then walk around the truck to check the lights, ive never seen how much pedal pressure it takes to light them up... quite a bit, more than i generally use to decrease speed or even come to a complete stop. this problem is in my '90, the '87 is buried in snow so i couldnt check, but the neighbor kid whos truck is identical to mine has the same issue. has anyone had this problem? does anyone have a fix for me? i really cherish the rear half of my truck, and apparently i don't have the funds to replace the tails with anything comparable in quality to what i have....
  5. Actually it will happen, I was just hoping it would happen easily. ...with a little cutting & welding it will happen. :headpop: the jeep gods would be happier if you held out for the proper part and saved the one you have for someone who needs the lwb version. and we could all use all the help from the jeep gods we can get...
  6. Yes, but yours should be round (the "softball") rather than elongated (the "blimp"). You need it for your heater controls. The one for vehicles equipped with cruise control has two chambers, which is why it's elongated. hmm... :hmm: ive got 2 5 speeds (no cruse) both have the elongated ball... not to doubt you eagle just curious, is this one of those jeep things? ....never doubt eagle  . its bad juju... plus hes always rite.
  7. pm eagle for copy written info
  8. i got an aluminum topper from a buddy that came off an old yota, it fit the bed dimentions but was too short in hight and the angle at the cab was wrong. so i took it apart made it fit a long bed, used some steel studs 3.5" to space it up and adjusted the front angle and reskinned it. it was pretty simple cause there built with a bunch of self tappers. then a week later someone stole it off the truck
  9. here's my '86 crash test pict-boned a '94 honda civic at 50 mph

  14. i found my thump coming from the leaf spring clamp bolt contacting my gas tank skid...
  15. keep it! drive it till you find just the rite cherokee ,late '89 or '90 with a 4.0 and ax15. get one that runs awesome and looks like crap, pay little to nothing. swap everything that isnt under your hood. earlier than mid '89 and you get the aw4 or ba10-5, later than 90 is an ho and requires more work(probly.... I'm not familiar with hos) best plan...'95 0r so 4.0 ho ax15 external slave oh...5 seed 4.10s and 32"s would be perfect
  16. sounds like a south park episode
  17. i doubt gods got anything to do with those....
  18. ive heard good things from multiple people using it, i was going to order one but i have a policy of not poying more in shipping than purchase price... sometimes living in ak sucks. mounts to tow hook brackets on both sides, if one hook works for extraction, both tied together aught to be better. should be boxed more and connect to more, which is why ide build it up a bit
  19. check for a d44 rear ive found 3 90s with them and no metric. color match grill...
  20. No. But Canada does ... thats what i said... canadia.

  23. been thinking bout this for a while, but until i have a couple other projects buttoned up I'm still thinking. my thought is to put a few ideas together for a hidden front receiver. i have heard a few bad things about using the receiver mounted winch in side pull circumstances, mabe use a turnbuckle on the outsides connecting to tow hooks er somthng. plus (bolts to tow hook mount)with out the receiver plus a factory front skid. gives you many mounting points to spread the load. hope this helps
