Rear bumpers and license plates
krustyballer16 replied to DirtyComanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
ORRRRRR.....(what I plan to do in a bumper now that I thought of it. Put 3 receivers in the bumper. The center one for a trailer. Then 2 on each side where you would put d-ring shackles. And in these receivers put the removable pinned d-ring shackles. When you put a trailer on, remove a shackle and slide in your receiver mounted license plate that will now sit off to one side and you can position it on the receiver mount however you want it! What about a plate mount that pinch bolts to the bottoms Idr of the bed rail and sits sort of on top of the bed rail facing rearward? Hard to explain Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk -
MJ Winch Bumper Lineup
krustyballer16 replied to DirtBound's topic in Vendors- members making products for MJs
Yep, best looking bumper so far. Beats JCRs DIY kit. And they've got the quarter panel armor and bed side armor like I had started working on making. They're getting somewhere with their stuff! Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk -
97+ front clip swap
krustyballer16 replied to mattbuch96's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I didn't think the new header panel bolted up to the old fenders... Even if it does, I've held a new header up to old fenders and the body lines are way off and look horrible. Best to just swap everything. I think the wiring is pretty straight forward if you have a wiring diagram Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk -

Not mj but it gets ideas flowing. These are quick little projects to keep me busy. This set and the next couple are for customers. That's my Cherokee but I'm not ready to drill holes in it yet... Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk- 197 replies

They should clear each other. A few others have said they fit. Might be pictures in the hitch page. They should clear any "replacement" bumper really Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk- 197 replies

Would anybody be interested in long wheel base sliders if I made them? Since there's 12" more material of each tubing, the cost would be $20-$30 more... Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk- 197 replies

HITCH PLATES!
krustyballer16 replied to krustyballer16's topic in Vendors- members making products for MJs
Would anybody be interested if I build long bed sliders too? There's 12" more of the slider and round tube material per set so cost would be $20 more per set.... and these wouldn't come with the "step plate covers" (sheet metal with holes cut in them) Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk -
Stock Bench Seat Question
krustyballer16 replied to SBpunk's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Try putting a piece of cardboard or something else thin but kind of stiff between springs and padding. That might help. I'm 5'8" and this height, whatever it is now, is perfect for me. And it's still soft and supportive. Bucket seats would be better, but bench looks better I think Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk -
Stock Bench Seat Question
krustyballer16 replied to SBpunk's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I had mine redone but I can't remember if he just put new, thicker padding in it or put something "solid" on the springs so the padding wouldn't smoosh thru them. After searching all over around here, he was the only guy that would do it for less than $1000... it's a 50' seat. It's got some lines that aren't straight, which we didn't notice until install. But it works I guess... Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk -
HITCH PLATES!
krustyballer16 replied to krustyballer16's topic in Vendors- members making products for MJs
$185 price is extended until the end of June. I'm taking a vacation to pigeon forge/gatlinburg and Nashville Tennessee July 10-14. So if anybody needs a hitch around there, I'd throw it in the back of the truck and bring it down. Save you some on shipping.... Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk -
How to Fix Dash Board
krustyballer16 replied to AMC86Kid's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Nice, maybe a Dakota or something? It was just the Chrysler, mopar, dodge generic harness. I think it fits like 70s vehicles. But I didn't need all the newer fancy stuff since my motor is all mechanical so it might not work for the stock MJ... Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk -
How to Fix Dash Board
krustyballer16 replied to AMC86Kid's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I used a painless wiring harness for a dodge truck I think. Completely rewired everything and ran new wires for power 97+ doors. BUT I didn't have any wires running to the engine since it was on my little cummins. But the cab wiring was easy. Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk -

There was a factory no bumper location? On the face of the spare tire surround. 2 square holes. Not sure why you'd need another bracket mount assembly though... unless it has a built in light. Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk -

Rear bumpers and license plates

I sit all the bumpers I build about 1/2" to 1" or so below the bottom when it's closed. Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk -
O ya! Everything is pretty much going smooth. Truck has now turned into the "haul all" truck and the tailgate and bed rails are getting kinda skinned up but mechanically, no problems! And thanks! Getting ready to start the 2nd cummins swap here soon! Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk

Rear bumpers and license plates
krustyballer16 replied to DirtyComanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
This one, overall, is 7" tall plus the hitch at the bottom. This is on my "daily". The more I think about how I'd actually do it if I built a tube bumper for one of my mjs,.... I'd recess the receiver flush in the bumper, then put the flip up plate mount on. But it must have a strong "lock" position to keep it up while pulling a trailer. OR if I was that worried about it, I'd weld a receiver tube to my trailer tongue and slide the plate in there while trailer is hooked up. OR OR, have a "bolt on", set screw/clamp piece, for the top of the tailgate so it hangs down on the face of the tailgate. Not sure how nice your mj is, if this is an option. This is 8" tubing with a hitch below. 8" is too tall in my opinion. I don't know where he put a plate on this after I shipped it to him. Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk -
Rear bumpers and license plates
krustyballer16 replied to DirtyComanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Wellll..... I guess it's illegal, at least here in indiana, to make a copy of your license plate... so don't do that. Lol. I've cut down a license plate before so it'd fit a bumper. The top and bottom little bits shouldn't matter... Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk -
Rear bumpers and license plates
krustyballer16 replied to DirtyComanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
If I ever tow anything it isn't legal. Wherever you live must suck lol. Here they don't care as long as the trailer plate is good. I've thought about using the fold "up" ones but putting it facing up on the top of the bumper and have the tailgate push it over if I have to drop the tailgate....or use that flip up and the part that over hangs past the bottom will flip up if it drags the ground going forward... Take a picture of your plate, print it out full scale, laminate it, mount to bumper anywhere. Won't have to worry about tearing it up. And then just have the real plate in your truck somewhere... Worth a try. I know that'd work around my area lol Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk
