I have a 3 core aluminum raditor, a single 15" electric fan on a shroud and have let the truck idle and pulled itself around on the front axle and have had no over heating issues. I think where they mess up is not running a shroud. My radiator is for a 55-57 Chevy.
I reused the ZJ transmission cross member. I made the bolt holes into adjustment grooves so I could get the transmission centered perfectly under the truck.
The 97+ dash swap depends on the year of the donor ZJ. To use the newer dash you will need the wiring from a 96 or newer ZJ. My donor was a 93 and it was OBD-I and allowed me to keep the old style dash.
Sell the 86 and buy a 87+ truck. You do not have the skill to pull off a 4.0 swap. We have been down this road with you, taking a few different routes, and we keep coming back to the same starting point.
Harlan is what I was suggesting when I mentioned Kentucky. LbL is not really all that fun. Durhamtown Tellico just opened up as well. We could stay at Crawfords camp and get the complete Tellico experience.
I would love to go but my motor is cooked. It is on my calendar for next year. I haven't been to a Dixie Run in years. I ride with Southern Jeeps. What club are you going with?
By the looks of the nice front flare placement, retarded brush guard install, ill fitting roll bar....
There is no way the dash install was done correctly.
