  1. Reaad through the Project Onyx thread in my sig. The 97 swap is a whole bunch of fun!
  2. I am still putting my money on the cRusty's track bar.
  3. Happy Birthday! Make sure you sign up for the Selective Service as soon as you can.
  4. I used the XJ wiring mated to the MJ wiring. I made all the parking light bulbs come on with the lights. I used the top bulb for the stop lights and the bottom bulb for the turn signals. Make sense, lol!
  5. Good job Pat! It is a great feeling to hear them run the first time. I remember when Onyx fired up like it was yesterday.
  6. They did make 2WD WJs. What is wrong with it? I would drive it. :dunno:
  7. The firewalls are different and allot yourself a few months to complete the conversion. It is not a quick process.
  8. It is the charcoal canister for the EVAP system. All my XJs and MJs have had it. Leave it in place or your will smell gas fumes all the time. Does it look like this?
  9. What are you gonna do with them Ravines Chief?
  10. I would just got a fork from a junk yard or from a member here.
  11. four things come to mind, bad fan clutch Broken or missing fan shroud pressure bottle bleeding off the pressure lower rad hose is sucking shut (possibly a partial blocked rad or bad hose) Check those and get back to us
  12. :jump:
  13. Get me pic of what you need. I just tore the dash out of my MJ and I might have the part.
  14. This works for 96+ XJ seats too viewtopic.php?f=9&t=16295
  15. you supply the truck and all the parts and I will do it. You give me $1000 for labor!
  16. Don't hold me to this but I am pretty sure... pink/black tracer = sender signal black (thin) or was it green = sender ground orange = pump positive black = pump ground You will need to cut the spring clips out of the 97 pump top to remove the 2 black connectors.
  17. You are cranking on this! If I was closer I would gladly offer my hands to help you out. Check out page 11, about half way down, of the Onyx build for some pump and sender ideas. It should help clear up what we talked about today.
  18. I know what you mean Pat. It is nice having a turn key driver/wheeler without the worries of break downs. It is almost like having a new truck.
  19. Watch the heater box holes where the lines come through. They are different. You will have to re-drill one hole for the heater box to mount. I think the easiest way around the brake booster, steering column, heater box, and wiring location problems is to cut the whole firewall out of a donor and weld it into the project truck. You can cut your stock firewall out and leave a one inch frame around the perimeter and weld the donor wall to it. As you get deeper into it you will see what I am talking about. If you need ideas just give me a holler.
  20. Bronson quickly learned that smoked headlights are a bad idea!
  21. DO NOT CUT THE BED ON THAT TRUCK!!!! Get some rear MJ flares and put them on the front. It will open up the fenders enough to clear the 245's.
  22. Un-bolt the old one and then bolt the new one in. They are really easy to do.
