I did drive it around the property. It rides rough but flys! Cutting all that weight out of it made a big difference. I'm excited to get the old dude on the road. It's such a cool truck. It deserves to be brought into modern times.
The Exploder was no match for the sawzall and cutoff wheel. I will pressure wash the frame and engine tomorrow. I will have to pull the ECM and engine harness to send them off to be modified as a stand alone harness. We are putting a Vortech super charger on it and need the ability to tune it. Stay tuned, there's more to come!
Meh, it still runs great. It's been like that for over a year. I drive it all the time and use it. I'll run it until it blows up and then replace the entire cooling system and engine.
I added some used oil, checked the oil level in the radiator then used it to move my 30' travel trailer and boat around the property. I'm not kidding about the oil in the radiator. I think it has a crack in a oil passage to a coolant passage.
WJ 30 isn't worth the work to swap. It is wider yes. But, that just makes the tube weaker on the long side. Hell, if you are that fired up to put a crap axle in your rig... use the WJ 44 in the rear also.
It was 75° here yesterday. I took the opportunity to pull my boat out of the pole barn for a spa day. I haven't had a chance to clean it up since Hurricane Michael tore here and left his mark. I spent the better part of 3 hours scrubbing and detailing the entire boat and trailer.
Now to get it in the water!!!
I have a TJ tank and kept the hoses in the stock location. I used a piece of radiator hose and a bend out of a cracked stock exhaust manifold. Check your driveshaft clearance. I had to have a 3" shaft built to clear the tank.

There is another one in either Buford or Cartersville and I can't remember the name.
The 2500 and 3500 Ram pick ups use a heavy duty screw type bottle jack. They are found under the front passenger seat on a cool pull out rack. Get one of those. It easily lifts my crew cab dually.
