  1. :agree: with all suggestions so far...especially about leaving the axle seals alone too unless they are leaking. You do not want to take the differential apart unless it's absolutely necessary.
  2. The IAC is typically the cause of high idle issues so the fact that yours is starting but shutting off my indicate a problem with the TPS. There is no way to "clean" a TPS like you can the IAC...it's either good or bad. CLICK HERE for the TPS testing procedure. It could be other issues as well, but this is a fairly easy test to start with.
  3. My preference is ProComp ES9000. They run in the $40 each range so they are not expensive and I have never had a problem with them. I run them on the MJ (3.5" lift), YJ (SOA) and on my Ram truck (2.5" lift). ProComp makes shocks that are a little lower priced than that, but they are hydraulic and I hate the ride & performance of a hydraulic shock.
  4. :dunno: Never heard of it. What is it? Google doesn't seem to know anything either... :hmm:
  5. Glad you got it going. Guess this thread just kid of got lost for a while...
  6. I think the locker & welder have more long term benefits  That still leaves $500 that you could put away toward to wheels & tires too... :clapping:
  7. I have read that too, but have not personally tested it YET. My truck had a fresh tune-up when I bought it a little over a year ago so I have not messed with it...but, I will ;)
  8. Posted to Craig's List Personals: To the Guy Who Mugged Me Downtown (Downtown, Savannah ) ________________________________________ Reply to: pers-982078099@craigslist.org [?] Date: 2009-01-06, 3:43AM EST I was the white guy with the black Burrberry jacket that you demanded I hand over shortly after you pulled the knife on me and my girlfriend. You also asked for my girlfriend's purse and earrings. I hope you somehow come across this message. I'd like to apologize. I didn't expect you to crap your pants when I drew my pistol after you took my jacket. Truth is, I was wearing the jacket for a reason that evening, and it wasn't that cold outside. You see, my girlfriend had just bought me that Kimber 1911 .45 ACP pistol for Christmas, and we had just picked up a shoulder holster for it that evening. Beautiful pistol, eh? It's a very intimidating weapon when pointed at your head, isn't it? I know it probably wasn't a great deal of fun walking back to wherever you'd come from with that brown sludge flopping about in your pants. I'm sure it was even worse since you also ended up leaving your shoes, cellphone, and wallet with me. I couldn't have you calling up any of your buddies to come help you try to mug us again. I took the liberty of calling your mother, or "Momma" as you had her listed in your cell, and explaining to her your situation. I also bought myself some gas on your card. I gave your shoes to one of the homeless guys over by Vinnie Van Go Go's, along with all of the cash in your wallet, then I threw the wallet itself in a dumpster. I called a bunch of phone sex numbers from your cell. They'll be on your bill in case you'd like to know which ones. Alltel recently shut down the line, and I've only had the phone for a little over a day now, so I don't know what's going on with that. I hope they haven't permanently cut off your service. I was about to make some threatening phone calls to the DA's office with it. Oh well. So, about your pants. I know that I was a little rough on you when you did this whole attempted mugging thing, so I'd like to make it up to you. I'm sure you've already washed your pants, so I'd like to help you out. I'd like to reimburse you for the detergent you used on the pants. What brand did you use, and was it liquid or powder? I'd also like to apologize for not killing you and instead making you walk back home humiliated. I'm hoping that you'll reconsider your choice of path in life. Next time you might not be so lucky. If you read this message, email me and we'll do lunch and laundry. Peace! - Alex
  9. Pete, I don't thin I have that option. Unless my eyesight is failing. Maybe only Admins and Mods possibly. :dunno: Yea...I logged in to my Admin screen on my Florida site and it doesn't have a forward option there either. I guess you have something special Pete...
  10. Nope...they don't get that fancy ;) . You could just do a copy/paste of the PM in to a new one to send. Right click on the picture, go to properties, copy the URL and paste it in to the new PM going to whomever you want
  11. What kind of pics do you need of using bolts :hmm: . Just get the described bolts to fit your existing holes, a couple washers & a nut for each... Maybe someone has taken pics of this, but I don't think it is likely that most would take the time photograph that ;) .
  12. They are great in Chysler/Jeep/Dodge stuff as they are what you get if you order MOPAR Performance plugs ;) . I don't think I would try them in the 2.5L since it is not a "MOPAR" engine though.
  13. Ya'll should put your locations in your profiles so we know where "here" is  It might also be a good idea to put a little info in your signature about your rig or be sure to post what you have when asking questions about problems. Ed...yours is obvious ;)
  14. But now you can make your own!!! :brows: He posted the whole article. Exactly...right click / save as ...you got it. Why pay him $3 for a scanned copy when he is stupid enough to post the whole thing to be copied :shake: It is a cool read though...thanks
  15. Yes...you need to find a 4WD XJ, MJ or TJ with the 2.5L 5SPD and it will have the gears you need.
  16. Don't think I'll ever have the opportunity to say that! :D I had to Google Javelina. It's real name is Peccary (aka; Javelina). Javelina is a Spanish/ Portuguese mixure of a name for them. I say... Fuzzy Pig...
  17. If you don't change the speedo gear, you cannot possibly calculate a correct mileage. I wish we could buy gas without Ethenol, but they put it in all gas now from what I understand. Ethenol definitely reduces MPG and causes damage to these older vehicles fuel systems.
  18. The ONLY thing that will keep your MPG up when going to bigger tires is the proper gearing. Ignition changes will be a waste of money unless the stuff is in really bad shape and is hurting you to begin with  Mine is 4.0L, 5 SPD, 4WD, 31" tires, 3.07 gears = 15-17 mpg in town...don't do any hwy driving so I can't quote that.
  19. I stick with OEM as much as possible. I have used the "hotter" ignition stuff & the "performance" stuff, but saw nothing to tell me that it was worth the money or effort. :shake: The only thing I like over OE on ignition stuff is Bosch spark plugs.
  20. Sweet!! Enjoy the snow...I know I would not ;)
  21. I don't see why lacquer thinner would be a problem...
  22. Properly geared...you can put what ever lift & tires on it you want.
  23. The easiest thing to do in your truck is to unbolt the steering column and drop it down. There are just two bolts/nuts holding it up to the dash structure and it only takes a minute or two to do. Did you get the oil pressure sender and the temp sender for the guage cluster as well?
  24. The 4WD conversion is not terribly difficult if you can get a good donor vehicle to get all of the needed stuff from at one time. The short verison is... You need a transmission, transfer case, front axle, front driveshaft and all the hardware to assemble it.
  25. VERY possible too. Check and see if the oil looks milky or if the coolant is dark colored.
