I would stay away from both, but especially Rusty's...run far away from them. They have a bad reputation for poor quatlity product and customer service both. I have not owned there stuff, but have friends that do and they have had nothing but trouble. Springs sagging, control arms bending etc, etc... and Rusty's just gives them a run around about repalcing the parts. I don't know much about Rough Country other than as the others have already said...you get what you pay for. A good 3" kit should cost you in the neighborhood of $700 - $900.

The ZJ sway bar is a great upgrade for our trucks if you can get one and have issue with the way your truck feels. Personally, I'm happy with mine as is, but I have heard a lot of people say how much they liked the ZJ bar upgrade.

OH...BTW...the procedure you went through with the groin incision is called a Heart Catheterization. The lady that does my screen printing just went through that about 8 months ago too. I also have another Jeep friend that is in his early 50's, has had 4 heart attacks in the last two years and has been through two Catheterizations.

Well...obvioulsy I won't go in to the other details that you already know, but outside of that, I am very happy with the way it looks and it's toughness. We hauled several loads of rock in it before I put the spare tire mount back in it with no ill effects. I am talking about some failrly large pieces of jagged sandstone...not little smooth gravel stuff. I still recommend Line-X. Rhino was too expensive.

Dude..Sorry to hear about you experience, but definitley glad you are back on your feet. I am going on 44 and had a similar experience about 4 months ago...pain in the chest, left arm tingling and loss of feeling in the fingers, pain in the arm/shoulder, light headed etc, etc... Fortunatley mine was not heart related after going through all of the tests in the Cardiac Care unit like you described. After more testing (MRI's) outside the hospital, it was found to be two herniated discs in my neck (C5-6 7 C6-7) pinching nerves that run in those areas. Anyway...don't mean to get off on a tangent about me. CW...please take the treatment and exercise stuff seriously. I have lost two members of my family to heart attacks and one good friend that died at 34 years old of a Heart attack. He was 6'4", weighed about 400lbs and knew he had high risk heart trouble, but did not take it seriously and fell out dead on the floor of his living room while playing with his 3 year old daughter one night. Sorry to be a bit grim, but this stuff really hits home with me

getting key code to have new keys cut from the VIN
BLHTAZ replied to jbhill's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It is up to the dealer to shut your SID off. If you had most of the certification at that parts dept, it would hurt their 5 star to do it. Or their just to dumb to realize they need to do it. But WE sure are glad either way! I think they laid off the guy that was in charge if that right about the same time I got laid off so no one else seems to be aware of it. I still have access to Dealer Connect and Star Parts for now  . I can't get on Dealer Central anymore though... :hijack: ...sorry... -
Should I rebuild transmision or swap?
BLHTAZ replied to 87 comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yes, the AX-15 is a pretty easy swap. There are a lot of write ups on doing it...some on here and many you can find with Google. I will change mine when it goes bad, but for now it works like a new one and my truck is strickly show / street so it never gets any extra stress on it ;) . I have a 32RH tranny laying in my shed out back that I was thinking of putting in our YJ, but it may go in the MJ if needed. -

getting key code to have new keys cut from the VIN
BLHTAZ replied to jbhill's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
For a '91...it may still be possible. If you need to try, PM me the last 9 digits of your VIN and I will see if it can still be found. Even though I have been unemployed from Chrysler for almost 3 months now...my access name & password still work on the websites ;) -
Should I rebuild transmision or swap?
BLHTAZ replied to 87 comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Swap it...rebuilding that tranny is like rebuilding a broken D35 :shake: . The BA10/5 is hard to find parts for and they are expensive to rebuild. You could probably do the AX-15 swap for less money. -
Nice find! I have been thinking about selling my Ram truck and going to an XJ for a DD for a while.

It's too bad though. I really like their stuff as I have the tube fenders and rocker guards on the YJ and was hoping to add some rear corner protection from them too one day.

I was just reading a weather blog on wunderground.com that there was a record low set this morning in Maine at -50  It is +38 down here right now and that is too cold for me. Gotta love the MJ though...it starts when the newer stuff won't...

Yep... 4.0L / 5spd will have 3.07 gears. Nice XJ

witch radiator for my 88???
BLHTAZ replied to dirtlord420's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Haven't seen that in a while, but yes, that could be another option. Just add an overflow bottle... -
Correct...and this is the view from the FSM of that set up. The part called the Throw-Out Lever is what your slave pushes when you press the clutch down. You can't see it from outside.

A little humor in the down time... :D On the first day of school a first grade teacher explains to her class that she is a Ravens fan. She asks her students to raise their hands if they, too, are Ravens fans. Wanting to impress their teacher, everyone in the class raises their hand except one little girl. The teacher looks at the girl with surprise, 'Janie, why didn't you raise your hand?' Because I'm not a Ravens fan,' she replied. The teacher, still shocked, asked, 'Well, if you are not a Ravens fan, then who are you a fan of?' 'I am a Steelers fan, and proud of it,' Janie replied. The teacher could not believe her ears. 'Janie please tell us why you are a Steelers fan?' "Because my mom is a Steelers fan, and my dad is Steelers fan, so I'm a Steelers fan too!'' 'Well ,' said the teacher in a obviously annoyed tone, 'that is no reason for you to be a Steelers fan. You don't have to be just like your parents all of the time. What if your mom was an idiot and your dad was a moron, what would you be then?' ...Janie smiled and replied, ..."a Ravens fan"

They didn't make Wranglers in 1996? Nope...no Wranglers in 1996. They were in the process of switching from the YJ to the TJ going from leaf springs to coils and many other changes so they took a year off and introduced the TJ as a 1997.

There is a good view of it in the FSM that i posted in the DIY forum HERE

You should be able to find plenty of info on them in Google searches. They have been around for 3-4 years now at least ;) Here is a short video of one in action...

witch radiator for my 88???
BLHTAZ replied to dirtlord420's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Just to clarify my point... I used the 3 row CSF too, but I just don't see that the trouble I went through to put it in and make everything work with a radiator that is not perfectly made for the Jeep. It took me two weeks to come up with a solution for the electric fan to work thermostatically without putting a manual switch on it and then figuring out an overflow bottle, running new hoses etc, etc... That kind of stuff is what I meant is not worth it. All that work and it will still run at 210 degrees as it always did before. The CSF is a good qualtiy swap, but the 3 row has no benefit over a stock style replacement as far as cooling for our trucks  . That Mac's tank is a much easier and less costly solution for someone with the desire to have an open style system  -
I think you read my signature... ;) As for the wheels, there are many 4WD websites that will sell what you are looking for like 4 Wheel Parts, 4 Wheel Drive Hardware or someone like Motion Offroad that is actually a member here

witch radiator for my 88???
BLHTAZ replied to dirtlord420's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Is your radiator bad? If not...leave it alone!! I say this because I went the exact route that you are talking about and it WAS NOT WORTH the aggrivation it caused. If your radiator is bad, get an exact replacement for it as it cools just fine. The three rows do not improve cooling in these trucks...they just cost more money and cause other headaches. CLICK HERE to see what you really need to make the open system conversion easy
