:chillin:  Wacko... That's about all I can say. $2500 - $3500 would be a good to acceptable price. Personally...I would not go over $2500 and probably not that high.

Forgive my ignorance as I have never worked with them, but it appears that you are using them on a normal wheel and I thought that beadlocks where a complete wheel & plate combination because the wheel had to be designed a special way to mount the tire and rings. I know you said the the back ring was welded on, but at $45 per wheel, that can't be wheel and rings can it??

 Excellent job. Another one saved :D . Welcome to the Club.

Very nice. I will be interested to see how this works out :D .

I have done a little looking at work and can find no difference.

The "Might Joe" build... -Full Console 1/25/09-
BLHTAZ replied to BLHTAZ's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
OK...back to work. I have been away for a short time as I had some health problems and spent a little time in the hospital Cardiac Observation Unit, but I am back and working on it again. Getting the roll bar painted today so I can finally get it installed soon. -
I ran the VIN in my dealership parts decoder, but it does not tell the body code. See the pic below...it says "No Descripton Available" because it is too old for the system to have full details on any more. I can tell that Silver Metallic is the original color though ;) . Image Not Found

That is what Tina said too. She thought it might look better (balanced) once we have the roll/light bar in and lights on it. Please remember that this truck does not see trail use so catching the lights on a tree limb is not a concern. We have our YJ for the trail playing, this truck was purchased to restore/fix up and show off ;) .

This is my only piece right now. I sold off all of my other guns years ago when I quit hunting, but regret it now. Beretta 9000S .40 cal.

Yea...nice, but a little more money than I wanted to spend on something to show her where the bumper is :brows: .
-
The problem there is we got them so we would have something sticking up so Tina could tell where the bumper is as she can't see the top of it when driving and she is affraid that she is going to hit something because she drives it to work a lot now that she has to park in a very tight parking garage at her new job. The YJ fits in the garage, but just barely and it only fits on the first 3-4 floors. She often has to park on the 5th - 7th floor.
-
That's awesome...especially for that price. Welcome to the Club .

I think they look great myself, but Tina thinks they are big bug eyes so we need some help. Place your vote and offer opinions if you wish :D . We bought a set of these to grace the new front bumper... Some neighborhood kids wanted in on the action as usual ;)
-
have you consider a stroker :brows: I intend to do one in out YJ, but not the MJ. I am happy with the MJ as is...even with it's quirks ;) . Sorry for the "off topic" ... now back to the regularly scheduled responses :D .

couple of cooling questions for a 88
BLHTAZ replied to dirtlord420's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Your overheating problem is air in the system because of that idiotic closed cooling system. The best way to remove air from the system is to park the truck with the front end pointed down hill. Locate the temp sensor at the left rear corner of the head (points straight up under the MAP sensor on the firewall) and remove the sensor to allow the air to escape and then screw it back in. If you have nothing but flat land...just jack the rear up as far as you can and do it that way. The idea is to get the air bubbles to move to the rear of the head and go out the sensor hole when removed. There are options for converting to an open style cooling system and several different threads on this site about it if you do a little searching. ;) -
More power: Yes Quicker start: No - A Renix just doesn't start quick...EVER ;) Smoother running engine: Yes - big difference Gas mileage increase: Yes - 14% increase

I have seen praise of them on different boards, but have not tried them personally.

87 = $3.51 a gallon at the Sam's Club next door to me at work. 87 = $3.53 at the Racetrack convenience store down the street.

Calm down friend... In my world...lube is the gear oil. The friction modifier is not the lube ;) From the jest of the posting here, you should conclude that an LSD is not good for off roading...at least as I read it.

I am glad everyone is OK. I remember the tornado outbreak from May of 1985 in PA and OH. I was in the National Guard back then and got called out at 3:00AM. It was a series of 12 tornados if I remember right and the damage was incredible, but the smell from dead animals is something I will never forget as they hit a lot of farms and there were literally cows, chickens, pigs etc... hanging in trees.
-
Welcome back to the real world  Hope things continue to improve for you.
-
LSD's don't need a specail lube...they still use the normal gear oil, but they need a friction modifier added.

X2I have a trac-lock in the front of our YJ, which is just a gear driven limited slip, and it is not the greatest either. I think you mean a Tru-Trac limited slip. Yep...that is what I meant. I was in a hurry earlier as I was sneaking on here at work ;) .

Why not just buy 6 and a filter and do a complete change if you are unsure of how long it's been ;) .
