Very nice truck!! Good looking country you are located in, looks like a nice area.

It is nice to see someone offering things for the MJ. I can tell you what I am looking to peice together for mine if I do go longarm. The TNT upgrade unit using RE coils, JKS trackbar, and wrangler brake lines. Keep us posted on this one, would consider it when its done.

I used Herculiner on my old CJ7's bumpers. It held up good as long as you put a top coat of paint on it. Otherwise it fades fast (like por15). It lasted good on the bumpers after the paint, looked nice too.

exactly. Up till 96 from an XJ is a direct replacement. 97-01 will require some additional work to fit like Cole mentioned.

I too am a diehard Warn fan, owned about 8 winch's, all warn, including the two I have now. I did consider a cheaper winch for my DD since it will get minimal use (at least thats the plan). I ended up getting an ARB bumper and Warn 9k winch used for what I would pay for just the bumper, so I went that route. I would consider the winch you have pictured as long as you don't plan on using it all that much, for the money it seems decent.

Need more info on that lift!!!

I was thinking the exact same thing

I checked over the rusty's, I like it, looks decent. I have used some of rusty's stuff over the years, never had a problem.

I've been pondering the same thing, way out in the future though. I'll let you forge the way.

More than likely what I would buy if I were to get a NEW truck. I like the dakota's.

Well I like it, it would make a sweet DD. All the negitive comment are usually from people who havent driven one and don't have a clue. I own a WK with a 5.7 Hemi, its a sweet ride and is fairly capable offroad. I've owned every type of Grand Cherokee built, several ZJ's, WJ's and now a WK. The WK takes the cake. Its not for everybody, but if you want an upscale Jeep this is it.

Congrats, she's a cutie!

Looks sharp!! What gears will you be running?
-
Least the guy has a sense of humor. It could still be an alright deal if you need some parts off it.
-
The comanche's use a GM steering wheel colum so most GM wheels will fit. Truck looks great........nice work! How are the 33's doing with the stock gearing? I know you havent had it out much but how is it so far?

Sweet write up, thanks for taking the time to do it for us. On my to do list........which is really long right now. :brows: -
Looks like the truck is coming along real nice. Been looking for a bed mat myself, hard to find. What size tires are on the red truck now?

When I replaced the bearings on my D44 in the XJ, I ran into the same thing. I used the new style with no problems.

Thats basically what I am doing, I bought a set of component 4x6 clairions. Put the 6x9's in your door if you really want to use them. I am going with a set of 6"rounds in my doors.

Thanks Pete, for taking all the time and effort to protect the site. X2

I lucked out on the drop off. It is station to station, but a bus guy had my stuff in a pickup and was taking it to the station, called me and said he could just drop it off at the house.

Not sure if everyone new about this, figured I would mention it. I've used greyhound to ship parts before, always with good success. I just purchased a ARB bumper with a Warn 9k winch, got them both for less than the winch would cost me new so jumped on it. I bought it in CA, shipped them via greyhound for 160bucks. It was shipped on the 5th, recieved it today, and they dropped it at my garage door! Again, if you have big parts to ship check them out, best prices I could find.

89 MJ Pioneer project, building a DD.
Rob S replied to Rob S's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Been awhile since I did an update, figured I better get some pics up ;) Here she is in the garage, all torn apart. Just POR15'd the floor, coverd that with Dynosomething bedliner, then sprayed on some rubberized undercoating for sound deadner. Reinstalled the carpet mat just to get it out of the way. Sprayed the back of the cab too. Floors are nice and solid! I then por15 the inside edges of the roof (seem to like to rust there), figured I would stop any rust now, then dynomatted the whole inside cab roof. Swapped on the 96 Jeep hood, mine had some dents and chips, this one looks new. Installing the 96 brake system (you can see it on the floor), along with the doors and power options. Also will install the console, and some buckets (havent decieded on seats yet). Enough yappn, here are the pics... You can also see the 242 on the floor, thats going in too. I have a line on some 410 axles as well, hope that is ready in a week or so. -
Nice find. If you go spring over with a D44 you will have approx 6" of lift. That gets you into some more expense to have a matching lift in the front and set up the rest of the drivetrain. Unless you are looking to go all out on the truck I would leave it Spring under. SOA are nice if you are going to build it all up, cheap way to get some nice lift in the back keeping stock springs. Guess it depends on what your plans are.
