Not sure why this was stated like this?, "Mopar (and AMC) Power" Engine: as there was no mopar involved with this cars engine. or the rest of the car for that matter. reading this makes me think its just some mopar fanatic trying to make believe this car had some relationship to mopar when it was made?? it wasn't

Love that truck..wish I had one like it didn't mean to make a new post.. was suppose to be a reply..ugg

I don't see cryco marketing an AMC car. the AMX has never been a cryco car and it wouldn't even make sense. Who would relate a AMC car with cryco? That's just my 2cent. My first car was a 69 Javelin 290 and I had a 70,72,73,74 Javelin and a 70 & 80 AMX. just young and dumb. sold every car but the 74..wife wrecked that. Loved AMC and wish they had made it. but hate the thought that cryco would try to produce and AMC car... Jeep is different theykept and sell the brand. they destroyed all of AMC. they didn't want anyone to relate AMC with cryco..so screw them..if AMC wasn't worthy in their opinion when they bought it to get Jeep then they are not worthy to use there car name plates now. F-you cryco uh..I just miss my cars. much better concept pic

Rough Country front lift parts
comanchedude replied to JACKED88's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
There parts perform as well as any kit of similar design and are quality and well made. (short arm) One thing you will want to consider is at 6 + inches of lift your arms will be at a steep angle and will give you a rougher ride then stock. if you can swing it you may want to get their long arm upgrade in place of the control arms it will cost you a few hundred more but will give you a stock smooth ride and overall better performance. I recommend going long arm system if its in your budget. if not the setup you have listed will work well . there customer service and warranty is A+ and I have used there products for over 7 years. they have gotten better every year. -
Transmission control box??
comanchedude replied to Lloyd's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
you can run the auto without the controls if you want. you have to shift it manually through the gears and back when you stop. but to answer your question. you need the computer and the wire harness and sensors that goes with it for full auto operation and converter lockup. you need the auto TPS for it to work correctly. there is also a switch mounted to the brake pedal just like a stoplight switch that shuts off the lockup converter when breaking. if you pull the complete auto tranny harness you will find all these parts. Also you will need the shifter. -
I buy my sets from company in Cleveland 90.00 for both shipped. (you can find them on ebay) They last just as long as the 150 a piece (Timken) units. I get couple years out of a set. I wheel my ring allot and they get wet and get mud and grit in them and they die. If they are street driving they may last years longer. with stock tires they may last as long as factory units?

Spring over axle conversion
comanchedude replied to alek's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The bracket does not need to be removed, I installed same system and the bracket was not an issue and was not removed. The reason they did not have this in the instructions as well as the cab support notching is because the instructions are for a XJ and those items don't exist on the XJ. RC didn’t test the kit on the MJ. I agree this system is and outstanding part and is the price performance leader in the long arm system arena. -
Thats stated backwards, fully extended gives you full pull power. the less exteneded the cable the less power.
-
Yes direct fit, had to notch the cab supports(you can see that in the pic) but other than that fits perfect and it very well made and all the parts are big and beefy. I'm very happy with the product direct bolt in?

installed RC long arm system

another where does this wire go?
comanchedude replied to redneck23ms's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Looks like the knock sensor wire, there is a water temp sender and knock sensor that run down to the driver side of the engine together the one you have in the pic is the knock sensor -
ordered long arm upgrade ...ya :clapping:

:huh???: Oh my.. I don't agree. it is rare that you would break a MJ-AMC20 I have never even seen one break. I don't know how may people even take extra spare rear axle shaft on the trail? it not very common to see a AMC20 or D44 rear axle break. it happens I'm sure but not very often. I run work my MJ20 hard and don't worry about it..
