Anyone who buys an electric fence WILL be hurt by it worse than they expect, if you can get them to work...luckily, we put 5 strands of horse wire and wooden\t-posts in the front 10 acres while we rebuild the electric fence in the back 11. In the meantime, I say screw horses and electric fences, they both wanna kill me. :fs1:

Sounds like a good learning experience, maybe I'll get another good case and work it out someday  Thanks for the info though!

Sadly, he's not lying. I used to work at a small restaurant and people would go to the back and smoke pot when we got done with the dinner rush (not me, I'm Straight Edge). People got rumors of it and our owner just had a quadruple bypass, so he just shut the place down and it was replaced with a crappy mexican restaurant. But I've gotta say, it was an awesome place to work for me since everybody was super nice and chill (and hot waitresses :brows: ).

And the 231C will bolt right in?
-
I believe its the rear. The JB weld held fluid great until I got the truck buried in my friend's lake (long story) but I've never seen the crack. It could be a leaky gasket, but it leaks a lot in that one spot and all the JB weld is on the rear half of the case.

That's a good dam story.

Then I guess it is time to find a spare. Thanks for the info.

If I have a CAD Dana 30, will the oil pump in my NP 231 t-case pump any oil while it's in 2wd? I wanna lock my CAD and I'm just wondering if I lock it, will my case leak less? It has a crack right on the bottom of the casing covered by JB weld by the PO, and If I can make it leak any slower that would be nice. Trust me, I wanna replace it, but not for what anyone will sell one for around here.

upgrade from np207 to np231 on an ax5 tranny
JFAComanche6 replied to JeepcoMJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
So does this mean that the BA 10/5 has a longer 4wd output shaft into the t-case than the ax5? -
I work at the gourmet grill at Market Street in Mckinney. I'm probably gonna be in Washington all summer moving luggage and hope to work for Ford when I get back for college. If theres one thing I hate maore than my Comanche breaking, it's being unemployed.

Speedometer Bobbing After 65
JFAComanche6 replied to TheDirtyJeep401's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
My speedometer wobbles all the time, and I've had a 2wd and 4wd and it won't quit. it settles down sometimes and it doesn't really bother me that much, but if someone knows how to fix it it would be nice. -
KC makes an auxhilliary reverse light kit, I think it's around $50.

I got my MJ when I was 15. It's a journey to fix one up, especially if it doesn't run. At least they got to keep their dirt bike, I had to sell mine to buy all the parts I needed. It's been the greatest learning experience I've ever encountered so far.

I usually hire a wise magician to poof into my garage for these kinds of things. But on a serious note, heat the hell out of the casing and it should come right out.

Impressive. This world needs fabricators, big and small projects alike.

My dad's 2006 Civic 1.8 has 250k (90% highway) miles and the ONLY mechanical issue we've had was a pulley locking up and the belt snapping in February 2013. if you change the oil in them and keep an eye on the brakes, a Honda will run forever.

Well put, memes. I like the signature btw, long live two-strokes!

More Transmission Issues
JFAComanche6 replied to JFAComanche6's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yea I started it. I also just found out that I somehow put my shifter in funky, so I reinstalled it and fixed it about 30 minutes ago. The only way being a stupid kid works out is when you have smart old guys in your life with tools, a 4-point lift, and common sense. -
More Transmission Issues
JFAComanche6 replied to JFAComanche6's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yeah I think I can get a picture up. It's the Peugeot tranny btw. -
I put my transmission back in for the second time this week last night, and now its stuck in gear (first I think). I'm totally sick of pulling the damn thing, so does anyone have any idea of whats wrong? Should I have put it in neutral before installing it? My friend thinks something is binding, but everything is put together solid as far as I can tell. I could be wrong.
